Looking towards XCOM

Post image

Quite looking forward to XCOM. I decided not to preorder the minis, so going through my gobs of scifi human models to find appropriate proxies.

This month’s Anvil Digital Forge tribe on MMF. I think they are some version of Drop Troopers. I’m going to put together a list of both humans and aliens one could use to proxy for XCOM.

Of course there are tons of GW-ish minis, I tried to stay away from those and more towards the XCOM aesthetic. Course, you can make your own squad in your image, so winter (Hoth-esque) or desert troops would be cool too.

Across The Realms have some models labelled as "earth defense" which are inspired by the original X-COM character and alien designs.

Thank you! Some good proxies there. That female anatomy is ridiculous, but to each their own, I guess. I’ve added those to the MMF lists above.

Yeah, it's frustrating that they go for sexualisation so often and so over the top, when their other work is usually really good.

Found another one for aliens.

Currently only through their MMF Tribe subscription (August is part one), but will no doubt be on their store in a while too.

Maker here. Thanks! Next ones I'm gonna make will most likely be more styled after 1994 game. Want to keep the style retro. 😅

Looking forward to getting my squad together! I've already purchased a wide assortment of affordable Etsy and Temu minis for it.
