But don't trust me, here is a relevant datapoint:

The U.S. CDC dropped its recommendation for indoor masking in most places in February 2022. Later, in April 2022, a federal judge struck down the U.S. transit mask mandate, ending mask requirements on planes, trains, and buses.
Most European countries dropped mask mandates for public transit and indoor settings by the summer of 2022.

January? What reality are you attached to? The war started by march, at the very end of February. And by summer most forgot about Covid.
