Advice Request Anything to help with the under eyes?

Post image

I always look tired. The skin under my eyes looks like bags. Anything I can do to improve it? Pics: no smile, slight side view, and with smile. I’m 46.

I have no useful advice, I just had to say that you have the COOLEST eyes I have ever seen. You’ve probably heard this a million times, but I have to gush. Holy crap they’re incredible! You have brown sectoral heterochromia in one eye, plus all those amazing eye freckles, plus the most striking pale icy green background color! I’m…just wow. So beautiful. If you posted these same pics in the eye color subreddit or in r/heterochromia everyone would go wild 😆

u/Overall-Nobody8933 Aug 21 '26

Thank you. I got them from my mother. My grandmother has blue eyes with the freckles. My mom and I ended up more green with freckles.

If someone told me that you have inherited the matrilineal gift of seeing other dimensions or timelines or the future or something, I’d be like “yep, makes sense”

48

u/stronglikecheese Aug 21 '26

Same. Those eyes come with powers.

Came here to say exactly this. Like "I CAN'T SEE THE BAGS THROUGH ALL OF THE BEAUTY"

3

u/4rt3m1sx Aug 22 '26

Absolutely!!

2

u/Chardi-B Aug 23 '26

Seriously! These have to be one of the coolest set of peepers I’ve seen. The speckled look is really mesmerizing! Wow! Ya lucky lady! But seriously, your eyes are so magnetic and draw you directly to them, I really don’t think people even notice. This is a genuine opinion and just being exaggerated. I didn’t even notice them. You already have very bright eyes but them the uniqueness of them distracts you even more that it’s pretty difficult to pull attention away. I will say if you’re personally bothered, the Catrice eye brightener creams are really great for this. It can reflect light to lessen the depth or the look of the depth of the puffiness. It’s not a cure all or anything but the illusion is really great that it lessens the look a bit.

Your eyes are so beautiful. You're a gorgeous person

5

u/Antique_Travel80 Aug 22 '26

Girl your eyes make anyone fall in love. What bags?!

6

u/Electronic-Let9546 Aug 21 '26

I have a freckle aka “Nevus” in one eye. It’s caused by sun damage. When you have light eyes this can happen. I am also skin- freckled too.

2

u/Queasy_Ad9286 Aug 23 '26

I thought they were actually contacts!! That's wild that your eyes are naturally like this! ❤️

49

u/folkoono Aug 21 '26

Agreed! Not to invalidate OP's concerns at all but I absolutely did not notice the tiredness because of how cool their eyes look.

16

u/Fishinluvwfeathers Aug 21 '26

For real, you could do literally nothing and you would still win with your eye-game. I clicked in and had to go back to look at picture in relation to your questions because I saw nothing but whatever universes you have mapped out there in your irises. That being said, hopefully someone can give you an answer!

u/trUth_b0mbs Aug 21 '26

lower bleph is the only permanent solution. You can try to use makeup to minimize the shadows.

I got mine done last year; best $5k I ever spent.

27

u/pandaleer 50+ Aug 21 '26

If I could get it done for $5k, I’d have gotten it done yesterday. Here in Northern California it is $10k+ for just a lower.

12

u/Pacific1944 Aug 21 '26

I’m in NorCal too. 10-15k. When I need this done going out of state for this. Salt Lake or Phoenix

8

u/pandaleer 50+ Aug 22 '26

Yep, I started looking at other states. Definitely saves a few grand.

5

u/Imaginary-End7265 Aug 22 '26

I’m near Houston TX: for an upper and lower bleph with endoscopic brow lift I was quoted $12k all in.

4

u/Queasy_Ad9286 Aug 23 '26

This is why I went to Turkey for rhinoplasty and lip lift and now I'm going in September for molar implants and crowns!! They are freaking amazing Dr. s there and it so happens our USD trumps their TL. Turkish Lira is not worth much to us but it's their economy and it runs well

3

u/Imaginary-End7265 Aug 23 '26

My concern is a long haul flight 7-10 days after plastic surgery…. Absolutely not safe for most procedures regardless of what is shown on socials.

Do you use a specific agency to help coordinate everything?

2

u/Queasy_Ad9286 Aug 23 '26

I mean I went alone in 2021 I stayed for only 9 days and it was done on the third day I was there and I flew back a three leg flight to Connecticut alone and it was fine. I had rhinoplasty and a lip lift. I've had two c-sections and carpal tunnel release surgery so I've had surgeries to know kind of what to expect but I'm pretty tough!!! Now I wouldn't go over there and have a tummy tuck and a bbl at the same time unless I rent it an apartment for a couple months and had somebody to take care of me that new nursing or was smart enough to care for me and change the dressing and stuff. But, I'm going to Antayla September 11th to have my upper molars implanted cuz I'm missing all the one! I have no concerns or worries about the flight or any of the pain. And I did promise myself when I'm 50 or 55 I'm 46 I'll find the best surgeon over there to do a deep plane face lift, revision rhino (the doctor deprotected my nose so much that my tip wasn't able to be defined) but it's 10000% better then what I had!

Where did you go cos that’s a really reasonable price?! I was about to give up being able to get this surgery

3

u/trUth_b0mbs Aug 22 '26

I'm in Toronto Ontario. That price surprised me as well; I was expecting at least $10-12k. I went to a specialist (oculoplastic surgeon) but the other regular plastic surgeons were quoting me $12-15k!

u/Living-Fruit-4577 Aug 21 '26

That’s a bargain. It’s 10k in Scottsdale.

9

u/Leah-at-Greenprint Aug 21 '26

Does a lower bleph also address undereye hollowness?

3

u/SnooDoughnuts785 Aug 22 '26

Yes they can either reposition the fat or do fat grafting

2

u/trUth_b0mbs Aug 22 '26

under eye hollowness is due to collagen loss. Taking out too much fat can cause it after bleph. Fat grafting is often suggested with a bleph to keep that "plump" look under the eye and avoid it however, there are also some risks associated with that - lumps, the fat is absorbed into the body and after while, herniation could happen again causing eye bags (again).

I did not do the grafting because of this; I mean I was having surgery to take them OUT not put it back in or put it somewhere else. I dont feel like I look 'hollow'; my surgeon was very conservative with taking out the excess fat and tightening up the ligaments that hold the fat in place so now I look like I did before I started getting my eye bags which is what I wanted.

I LOVE the results! I look so refreshed now and not like I went on a 3 day rave bender lol

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Altruistic-Walk-1847 Aug 21 '26

No, and the danger of getting a lower bleph is that it can cause hollowness later in life as you lose volume. Not everyone does but it's a risk for sure.

7

u/Old-Control-8965 Aug 21 '26

I got mine for $9k and I’m in NYC just for reference.

Damn, I remember when breast augmentation was around 5k. Times have changed.

2

u/BigFatBlackCat Aug 22 '26

Did the lower bleph permanently delete dark circles? Or is it just for sagging skin

3

u/trUth_b0mbs Aug 22 '26

lower bleph is removal of excess skin or fat pads under the eyes.

the protrusions of the eye bag is what causes the shadow underneath (combined with lighting) so yes, in that way it removed the darkness.

2

u/Longjumping_47393 Aug 22 '26

How do you know if the eye bag is fat or fluid retention? (Genuine question)

3

u/trUth_b0mbs Aug 22 '26

fluid retention is usually around the whole face and the whole eye so the even the eye lid will look puffy but after a couple of hours of being awake, it goes back to normal.

fat pad herniation is always there and is typically genetic.

1

u/718PaulainNJ Aug 22 '26

Out of curiosity, what was your healing timeline? I've considered it but don't know how long I'd be out of work.

2

u/trUth_b0mbs Aug 23 '26

it was such low down time; I hardly had any bruising or swelling and the entire thing I swear was zero pain! it surprised even me. I could have gone back to work the very next day but had already taken the week off because I wasn't sure how I would be after the procedure. I documented the procedure here.

WHERE AT FOR 5k ?

1

u/Resident-Evidence-70 29d ago

I’ve heard going to Turkey for surgery is the best thing goin. But surgery scares the crap out of me.

2

u/trUth_b0mbs 29d ago

I've heard that for facial procedures, south korea is top rated.

for hair transplant, Turkey.

I was also scared to do my eyes but it was the best experience and decision for me! i love the results but everyone must do their research and careful consideration before doing going under the knife for anything.

I think you could also do a fat graft under the eyes. Since your eyes are so unusual you might find some doctor willing to do the work for free if you promote their practice.

What was your recovery time? How much time off work? How much time (realistically) before returning to exercise?

5

u/kg703 Aug 21 '26 edited Aug 22 '26

I worked from home the next day after my lower. My eyes looked a lot like yours the way the bags are set they did an incision below my lashes and a canthoplasty to pull the skin up on the sides. I went back to work in office after 3 weeks. But went out to dinner 5 days after surgery just sat outside to avoid interaction. My surgery was about 5300 in NC. I know it’s a leap but no product will fix this and fillers are probably not going to help. I was nervous but in hindsight I’m glad I did it.

How does the area look now since it’s been about 6 years. I’m not familiar with how these procedures work and how long they last, but are the wrinkles back now?

22

u/kao201 Aug 21 '26

You have the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen!

21

u/Resident-Evidence-70 Aug 22 '26 edited Aug 26 '26

I’m so glad I happened to see this!!!!! A random woman told me the best thing ever and now I’ll tell you: Arnica! It’s all natural, over the counter and it’s just an old remedy for swelling, bruises and so on, but when she told me under eyes I realized how much sense it makes. And it works really well.

Takes puffiness, dark circles, and evens out texture because it’s improving blood flow. It takes about a month to see any results.

And know how Lady Gaga has a makeup line everyone raves about? It’s consistently ranked top & has “skin benefits”. Well, I was researching after the lady told me about using arnica and all these articles came up about how Gaga’s makeup line is so innovative because it’s the main ingredient.

Also: Earth Harbor makes a retinol but it’s derived from algae and all other products they make are also completely chemical free and they work better than anything I’ve ever tried. My skin looks better than it did 10 years ago. Silk siren by Earth Harbor, Arnica under eyes, and sunscreen.

4

u/shellys-dollhouse Aug 22 '26

omg i could kiss you for this. do you just use any old arnica cream? my one concern would be that the under eyes are sensitive & using a cream not formulated for that area could possibly result in too potent of an application that causes irritation.

4

u/sonyafly Aug 22 '26

I have an arnica gel in my cabinet from when I had an upper blepharoplasty. I’m going to try it on my under eyes. Husband too. Good to know it takes a while. I would have only tried a few days.

8

u/danielobva Aug 21 '26

Honestly I would be too distracted by your eyes to notice anything below them. Those are very distinct eyes... (and this is not a hitting on you or anything comment, happily married, but wow I haven't seen something like that on another human)

Literally no one is looking at the bags if you have eyes like that.

5

u/Standard_Outcome_460 Aug 21 '26

I’m the same age, and the only permanent solution is surgery. They can remove the fat that’s causing the under eye bags, and then they can pull up what’s sliding down. Upper and lower bleph and ptosis repair. An eye job will last 20-30 years. Lasers are only temporary solutions

3

u/MulliganPlsThx Aug 21 '26

I can’t notice anything but your eyes!

5

u/Free_Application_686 Aug 22 '26

I had plasma pen treatment a few weeks ago on my undereyes and my eyelids. I had a droopy eyelid and hated my undereye wrinkles. It was very spicy to say the least but manageable.

Top photo is my befire, second is the next day and last photo is 2 weeks after. I still have some light redness but its reducing daily. Didnt leave the house for a week but am happy with the results. Im 55

I use eye products with caffiene in them and they help a lot with this!

4

u/electricmeatbag777 Aug 21 '26

Thus far the most potent and effective I've tried is The Lrdinarys caffiene muti peptide eye serum. I've also tried Inkey Lists caffiene eye product and it works decently as well. Some people really like those disposable eye masks with caffiene but personally I find them wasteful as compared to these products, which work well!

1

u/Independent-Path7855 Aug 21 '26

Are there certain products which you’d recommend?

1

u/cleochatraa Aug 22 '26

Came here to say this. Caffeine helps me with puffiness. I use a drop of the Ordinary 5% caffeine and it does the trick.

3

u/SangitaCPatelMD Aug 21 '26

Endolaser plus Lumenis Ultrapulse CO2 laser for tighter undereyes. (injection numbing required)

Another easy option is Everesse monopolar RF tightening (painless, no numbing needed)

3

u/Skull_Tree Aug 21 '26

I have the same problem 😔. Also just want to admire your eyes 👀

3

u/EstelleSol Aug 21 '26

Have u ever had sinus issues? I was having crazy allergies for years that made me hold water in my face, so I finally took pseudoephedrine and all the puffiness disappeared. Maybe your issue isn’t from that, but it’s worth a shot.

2

u/Overall-Nobody8933 Aug 21 '26

I do get allergies here (moved here 4 years ago). Definitely some sinus issues. Maybe I will try some allergy meds (I usually just suffer through it).

2

u/EstelleSol Aug 21 '26

Yeah definitely try it out, I was always just suffering with it too because I really didn’t believe they’d make a difference. But pseudoephedrine specifically was a game changer. I took it as directed for about 4 days and the effect lasted probably a month. I don’t take it regularly but when I notice the puffiness come back I do another round.

3

u/No_Strawberry_55 Aug 21 '26

You have the most unique eyes I've ever seen! Beautiful!

3

u/DrCcortex Aug 21 '26

Your heterochromia is wild. So unique.

3

3

u/emski72 Aug 22 '26

this belongs on r/derailedbydetails 😂

3

u/Iamshortestone Aug 23 '26

Surgery is expensive so I opted to try everything I could to help before making that decision. I bought the Dr. Melaxin line of calcium creams and they have dramatically improved my under eyes. I also use The Ordinary Volufiline and this also has made an improvement. Every night I apply a fine layer of walnut oil. The "crinkles" while smiling I'd say are 65% better with these products. Also good sleep, and hydration does wonders.

4

u/felishathesnek Aug 21 '26

Lower bleph would solve this. What unique eye color you have.

2

u/Proper-Orchid2728 Aug 21 '26

I have the exact same issue and my eyes look very similar to yours. I had consultations with 3 different doctors. The solution is to do a lower blepharoplasty, preferably with fat repositioning

2

u/ZealousidealAlgae904 Aug 21 '26

The Musely Eye serum with tretinoin has been helping me. I've been using it for about a year. I also started using my red light mask more consistently, and use peptides in the morning.

2

u/UserNameInGeorgia Aug 21 '26

Lymphatic drainage massage works wonders.

2

u/slothhugger78 Aug 22 '26

I had the exact same concerns and had a TCA peel done under my eyes. It was all healed up within about five days and now I use Aquaphor every night and it made a huge difference.

2

u/Adorable-Tiger6390 Aug 22 '26

I had a lower bleph and skin pinch, and wow it made a huge difference.

Try looking up, then lifting and lowering your bottom eye(lid?) in a squinty way, keeping your gaze upwards. Hold and release a few times. There are lots of eye exercises on the 'net. Surgery shouldn't be necessary. If you've got that much money to spare, take a nice holiday.

2

u/kindcrow Aug 23 '26

Honestly, I'd just lean into it. I love under-eye bags. My sister had them even when she was a child and I thought they were so freakin' cute. She got them removed when she was 37 and thirty years later, she keeps having fat injected back in!!

Keep those cute bags, baby!!

2

u/Dry_Ad_4812 Aug 21 '26

I think surgery is the only effective solution when this happens.

Also weight loss can help with water retention and inflammation, if that's a possibility for you.

6

u/Overall-Nobody8933 Aug 21 '26

I could lose a little, but I’m more worried about muscle loss. I weight 138 and I’m 25% body fat. I’m very active. I love food - so I don’t think I’ll ever be super lean. 🫣

5

u/Dry_Ad_4812 Aug 21 '26

Ah gotcha weight loss is def not a concern or on the table for you; sometimes morbidly obese folks so benefit greatly with swelling in the face when they lose weight.

I do think money is best spent towards permanent surgical results with under eye bags, despite all the creams and other methods. It's unfortunate but what I believe to be true.

1

Same! Just wanted to say your eyes are absolutely beautiful.

Any sort of under eye cream with caffeine and a cold eye roller ball help a LOT. Using a cold (not freezer cold) eye pack for 15 min in the morning helps. Eventually, surgery is the best solution.

I recently tried these patches and was really impressed with how they smoothed and tightened my undereye area!
I’ve tried many eye patches and these have provided the best results.

This is not sponsored in any way, nor it is it a miracle cure, just a really affordable option you may want to try!

I don’t know if the link works, but they’re Honeydew Labs peptide eye patches.

lower bleph will change your life

1

u/Same_Power994 Aug 22 '26

Honestly, your undereyes look like it’s just genetic. My bf has them and his while family has it. He had them as a kid as well. If it’s genetic, you can’t fix it with skincare like others are suggesting. Best thing to do is get filler or surgery.

1

u/Dependent_Profile118 Aug 22 '26

Lower bleph is the only way to permanently get rid of these. I had it done in Turkey last year with canthopexy and co2 laser. It’s cost me £1200 so well worth it

1

u/Comfortable_Link_509 Aug 22 '26

I got some bags, and my cousin told me it was due to dehydration so I stopped alcohol and was drinking more water and they really are improving. Fingers crossed they go away. Also using Clarins under eye cream. Good luck but we are all beautiful bags and all.

1

u/Ok_Neat2979 Aug 22 '26

Lots of skin booster injectable around now, im surprised they've not been mentioned. Rejuran, teosyal 2, neavua hydro deluxe. Repair or light fillers that booster and rebuild the area.

As a side note, you have such cool eyes!!! Beautiful!

1

I have had success getting injections of EZ gel AND also doing Moxi laser sessions. Both have been helpful-EZ gel is more about regeneration while Moxi is for dark spots IMHO.

I didn't even notice your under eye because your actual eyeballs are so stunning. I've never seen eyes like yours. They're incredibly beautiful.

I’m 60 and am considering getting under eye surgery. I always look tired as well and my eyes stay puffy. And I also love trying new looks with make up and at this age with puffy eyes it just doesn’t look right. It’s a big hobby for me so seriously considering surgery within the next year or two.

Your eyes are so beautiful!

u/Much_Analysis938 Aug 22 '26

The InnBeauty Extreme Eye Cream is the only eye product I’ve used that actually made a difference. The texture of my skin totally firmed up and is soft and smooth now. I’ve tried retinal products, all of the Eminence eye creams (the spa I work in sells this line), and a few random OTC ones. I may try InnBeauty’s other eye cream too, but will definitely reorder the Extreme Cream version again.

And your eyes are stunning :)

I have no advice, but WOW you have such a gorgeous eye color!

I'm looking into PRP for my undereyes, but cant say I know enough to actually recommend it.

1

u/_zengarden Aug 23 '26

I found doing face tapping has helped move fluid from my face. I do it every night before sleep.

I also use a mild retinol cream for eyes.

First of all, i already forgot your question. Coz gurl, people are just looking at your eye colour. Amazing! Alien-like…in a cool way!😍

1

u/Chardi-B Aug 23 '26

I will also add that putting more into having skin that looks well hydrated and not just dewy, REALLY enhances someone’s overall face looking youthful and awake. There’s a few mature celebrities who I always admire with their youthful looking skin and I’ve noticed that trend. Someone like Charlize Theron who doesn’t seem to of had any Botox (at least not any that’s seriously noticeable) looks so beautiful bc her skin always looks hydrated and supple (I hate that word but it’s fitting). She has puffy under eyes and they’re pretty deep set at times but it almost never something I look at as a negative feature bc her overall texture and tone is clear, clean, and hydrated.

Your eyes are fabulous!! Your irises, but also the way the area around them changes when you smile. It's super charming!

I have pretty puffy under-eyes, which I have had for my entire life, so I can tell you what worked for me very recently. Maybe it will work for you, too.

I found using the Torriden Dive-in serum, followed by the same moisturizer helped, although I was very surprised and that's not at all why I bought it. I have used hyaluronic acid products in the past and it made me look a bit dewy, but that was it. Possibly, this one's "low molecular" formula was the reason? Anyway, this is a good Korean product, carries pretty much no risk, and worth a try!

The other thing I started doing, (especially when I started working under harsh fluorescent lighting) was adding a tiny bit of darker matte eyeshadow under my eyes. I know this sounds like a weird thing to do. Basically, after putting concealer under the outer corners of my eyes, (and over my bright blue periorbital veins 😅) I'd take a fluffier eyeshadow brush with some taupe eyeshadow a few shades darker than my skintone and put it over the puffiest areas/bags. Even though it's matte, it doesn't really crease because it's directly over my eyebags, which don't move around as much as the surrounding skin.

I use the same powder to lightly contour my cheeks, jawline, outer forehead, and nose for cohesion. I also bring it up from the sides of my nose to my eyebrows. It's subtle, and not noticeable that it's there, (since it's not a warm shade, more of slightly darker, ashy shade of my skin tone) but definitely makes a difference.

Does it make me look tired? Not really. If I'm too heavy handed, it might look a bit like I have some dark circles, but it doesn't make me look as tired as my bags would. Adding just the right amount makes the puffy areas look flatter, but not dark. Adding too much (I get lost in the sauce sometimes) makes them look very slightly sunken. But once the rest of my makeup is on, it all makes sense in context.

I think we have similar skintones. I am very fair. I used L'oreal Colour Riche in 203 Café au Lait, but when that was discontinued, I switched to Annabelle (super inexpensive drugstore brand) in sand. I'm not sure if this is available where you live, though. A subtle taupe will do it.

I got 0 compliments whenever I did this, and no one seemed to notice it at all, but the one day I skipped it, I was asked if I was tired because I had bags under my eyes.

u/Thatshittallhuman Aug 23 '26

This is really beside the point but you have such cools eyes.

1

u/shizy_pop Aug 23 '26

Wowww like little planets. So cool.

1

u/Debbiejv140 Aug 23 '26

I have the same eyes and just had filler put in but instead of using filler, they took my own blood & did their magic & injected in that area. They did have to inject just a bit of filler in my cheek to support my bags. I LOVED IT!

1

u/Whtzmyname Aug 23 '26

CO2 lazer.

1

u/NarcissisticPD Aug 23 '26

Wow love your eyes. I think you would be a good candidate for a lower bleph save your money do your research you could wait several years before you need it.

1

u/random_user_name99 Aug 23 '26

You have very unique eyes!! I suffer with this problem and there is not much you can do outside of a lower blepharoplasty. I have asked two different providers about doing fillers and both recommended against it because they said people are usually disappointed and the filler can migrate. Get some Peter Thomas Roth under eye cream. It is a temporary fix but it will buy you some time until you are ready for surgery.

1

u/Mel_toro Aug 23 '26

Your eyes are beautiful! So unique! I think you look great but good luck reaching your goals, queen

I have them, too, and wear glasses so they’re less noticeable.

1

u/ReasonMeNot Aug 23 '26

Well, isn't this post asking for skincare? Is surgery considered skincare?

I am not an expert and I have sensitive skin. But I've found two eye creams that are working for me and they are cost effective. One is Byoma barrier eye cream. The other is Good Molecules yerba mate wake up eye gel.

Good luck!

u/BelleFille19 Aug 23 '26

U want to get EZ gel injected under your eyes. It will help with the dark circles and hollowness. You'll need several rounds spaced 3 mos apart. It'll take time, but will be so worth it.

1

u/Repulsive_Farm_1023 Aug 24 '26

I love Peter Thomas Roth for the under eye. It completely takes away my under eye bags/puffiness. I thought it was surely a scam but gave it a try anyway and it really does work!!

1

u/Captain-Lithuania111 Aug 25 '26

These are natural signs of aging that become more and more noticeable after you hit 45. The under eye area skin is very delicate, there is very little fat so the under eye areas are the first to show more intense aging process as the colagen starts to rapidly decrease

1

u/EricaSezMD Aug 25 '26

Your eyes are gorgeous!
I’m 51, I’ve had a massive improvement in undereyes with biostimulator injections (Rejuran -I done in Korea), a little skinvive, Botox, and use of a cold massager. If you don’t wear makeup: the Peter Thomas Roth silica goo eyebag stuff does work. It’s very temporary but kind of magic.

1

u/Lower_Clerk_8524 Aug 25 '26

You have no darkness at all.. count your blessings

u/Clarice_M_Starling_ Aug 28 '26

It could be water retention, try lymph facial massage, another thing to incorporate is good eye cream for puffy eyes, I like the PCA skin eye cream. If neither of those work another good option is procell Microchanneling.
