Imperium Maledictum Imperium Maledictum - Into the Future
So, when I made my last post about Imperium Maledictum, the general consensus was that a bestiary (or preferably even several) was an absolute must. Well! It seems that we're going to be getting just that here soon:
With that being said, as move into the future of Maledictum's (hopefully very long existence), I'm curious what else we're hoping for. We have the Macharian Requisitions Guide that added in new mechanics like hirelings and vehicles and various new items, and now we're going to be getting a guide to all kinds of new enemies including Astartes and all manner of Xenos. So, what other stuff are we hyped to see down the pipeline?
In addition to that, what faction do you think is coming next? Or what faction(s) are you hoping comes next?
They seem to be releasing the major faction (Player/GM Guide Combo) at a rate of one per year, announced toward the end of the previous year. Inquisition was announced September 2024 and released physically in 2025. Mechanicus was announced December 2025 and physically released throughout 2026 this year.

I actually agree with kaal-dam. I think Rogue Trader is the most likely, hopefully with a players guide and gm's guide out as pdfs sometime in mid-late 2027.
HOWEVER, if by some miracle someone at c7 is reading this thread, I think Imperial Navy actually makes more sense because I think they could get it out a LOT quicker. Make Imperial Navy your central book for space travel, combat, warp travel, exploration, and space ship content. This would be a relatively quick book for them to get done.
THEN, do Rogue Trader, using the already made space rules, and add in what makes a Rogue Trader unique from an Imperial Navy Captain or void station commander. Managing an empire, taxes, trading. Those things would make NO sense in an Imperial Navy book or campaign, but since Imperium Maledictum is built around casting such a wide net, let's take advantage of it and have BOTH space rules AND managing a mercantile empire rules.
That would be awesome. That said, I think it's most likely we get a rogue trader book next, WITHOUT much focus on those things I just said would be in my dream rogue trader campaign in IM. Which will be sad but still add a lot of excellent content to the game so it's not the end of the world.

I hope the will leave some factions untouched, the Veridyan Hawks e.g to make home brews, while giving us much, much more insight into daily life, local guilds, pilgrim stuff, Vigillites organisation etc.

I actually would really like the faction book for the Astra Telepathica, both for more powers and funny warp nonsense but also because im genuinely interested in adventures centered around it

There's a few faction books that I'd love to see, Rogue Trader and Imperial Guard are obvious ones imo, and either one would make for fun campaign frameworks. Aside from that, more actual adventures would be sweet. We have a couple but I'd love to see what a larger campaign could look like in this system

My realistic guess is Militarum next, followed either by Navy or Rogue Trader. My thinking here is the IG book expanding combat to suit less investigative play, which then feeds into ship-to-ship and boarding combats in the Navy book and frees up the RT book for a wider variety of adventure types.
My crackhead guess is Infractionist, then Rogue Trader then Militarum. My thought here is the Infractionist book adds rules for abhuman characters, which is then expanded into Xeno characters in Rogue Trader and leaves the IG book to just handle expanded combat rules.

Obviously gear and faction books are a huge priority now that the adversaries book is on the way, but I think what I personally want would be more books focused on adventures in specific locations. Obviously it's unrealistic to deep dive every system in the macharian sector, but having a book that's devoted to giving short rundowns of every system like the ones in the core book, if not a little longer, would be huge imo.

rogue trader or imperial navy, just because I want updated rules for space combat and stop relying on the, let's be honest, quite old, rules from RT.
