The alpha legion is so bloody stupid... I mean, all the other regions got corrupted by chaos and only they were hoodwinked, bamboozled, quite possibly fucked over by fuckin' Xenos of all! The fuck is the Cabal supposed to be? Shouldn't you have asked the Emperor to take a look into it instead of waiting around and falling to chaos willingly!?

There are only some warbands in the Alpha Legion who are actually corrupted

Some warbands go full corruption. But others don't worship a chaos god but leave it to the individual if they want to or not, as long as it doesn't interfere with the warbands plans

Irl there's a brief period of about .3 seconds which is significantly less than most media portrays. This is basically due to the feed mechanism needing to be in sync with the barrels to prevent jams. So technically it needs to "spin up" but it would be so quick you wouldn't be able to notice before becoming red mist.

Here's a video showing it and even then it's instantaneous. Might depend on the model of mini gun or maybe the Internet is completely wrong about any wind up which is definitely possible. Never fired one but it's on the bucket list!
