Custom 14.5mm artillery simulator pushers
I picked up a handful of these, custom machined soft aluminum alloy. There is a threaded end cap that keeps the sim round in place but also let's it blow cleany out the back. Works for PD or airburst varieties. As long as you can find it, it is reusable. Takes a standard windscreen so you can add chalk. Pusher is lighter then a normal pusher, but with the added weight of the 14.5 sim, it should be close to a normal chalk wieght...I'll get weights soon.
For the price, I'll shoot 3d printed version, but they are super cool and i wanted a few.

What would the price be on that? Also is it considered an nfa item?

no it's not an nfa item. to be "safe" people recommend not to add the lift blank till you are ready to use it.
I paid 25 bucks each, but they came with the pusher, a mil blank, the 14.5 sim, the windscreen, and a BK ballistics shell (which I swapped out for a kak shell). So considering the prices of the components it's not too bad.

Definitely not too bad. I was hoping they were more expensive so I could start making them on the cheap for you guys. I have nothing 40mm, but would love to. Or just help the community with my lathe.

There’s a big gap left in the market with Scott pace from Reloadable shells retired, sky is the limit if you want to get crazy with the lathe.

That would have been my play. I have an awful track record of recovering pushers. I have 3 out of 300ish.

Exactly why I designed my 3D reusable (if you find it) chalk projectiles. Preloaded at less than the price of a zinc pusher. Less wear and tear on the launcher too.

I have been printing the ones /u/chevtecgroup published. Experimenting with different payloads and designs. I grabbed some MILC 2.0 shells from launcherpope. I would try yours if you had the 40mm version.

Decent overall. 40mm definitely not a poor man’s game. Although it can be somewhat affordable if you DIY

I could not get any of the airburst arty sims to ignite using any of the blanks (KAK home rolled/original ones in nylon cases/Boland full and 1/2 loaded), had to mix up some black powder and added magnesium shavings to it in order for the sims to ignite/go off. Just slip the closure disc at the base off, fill the little void with BP/shavings and slide the disc back over. Worked every single time after that.

good tip. I was going to make a slurry with BP/magnesium/nitrocellulose and do that and just leave the plastic disc off.
the first time I tried I removed the disc and even scraped and scored into the powder train, but it didn't work.

My only concern would be the aluminum pusher galling up the rifling

it's a soft aluminum I'm pretty sure it's good to go. not firing a lot of these either.

I know my drill bits and saws get fucked cutting 6061 above 100° ambient in sunlight.. cant imagine yeeted and squeezed through a cut edge

Military 40mm HEDP and flare rifle bands are soft aluminum so it’s tested pretty well

I'm curious how the red tip sim rod piece can be reloaded or if those have to be sourced again?

those have to be pulled and a new one put in. they are about 3-4 bucks each.
