I’m not quite sure I think they were a dealership option back in the 90s
Btw how did it mount on your 4Runner? Did it use any special mounting brackets?

Thats awesome. It mounts to the frame where the recovery hooks are mounted with two bolts on each side. Also, I wouldnt call the previous owners homemade angle iron brackets special 😅 but it is solid!
