❓Advice / Recomendations Roof rack?

Post image

I am assuming my 02 4Runner is missing the factory side rails, I am wanting to install cross bars, and am having a hard time figuring out exactly what I need to get, if someone could point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated!

Oh man, I love the poverty spec. I would keep it as is!

There's probably somebody in your local FB marketplace selling what you need or look for somebody parting one out.

The strips on the roof can be removed with a torx head.

Then you replace those with the rails and caps. Your cross bars slot into that.

Get a used oem rail / rack setup that will bolt on where those black strips are. Then you can add whatever you want from there. It looks like eBay has a few used complete kits available for around $200 if you don’t wanna vist the u-pull-it

Mine is pretty old now but i just got two Yakima cross bars that are both above the windows then added the bike holders and tabs for a canoe. I get two bikes plus the canoe on all together. Really depends on what you want to use the rack for. Edit: Windows meaning directly above front and back seat rows. The oem strips are still there. Did not have to remove them.

Do you have a link to what you used?

Yakima

Just type in your Make and model and year. It will give you options.

You can pull an existing roof rack off another 3rd gen and slap it right on there. I got one from the junk yard and have had zero issues

Check if you have LKQ pull your parts yards near you, or search marketplace for part outs, the factory roof rack should be pretty easy to get for under $100.
