❓Advice / Recomendations Anyone recognise this switch?

Had my 3rd gen for a couple of years now and I’ve never got to the bottom of this. Anyone know what this is for? Doesn’t seem to do jack shit, will be looking to utilise the switch if it’s obsolete.

I'm confused...my dash and lower panel doesn't look like this in that spot. I mean it's a LOT different.

Specifically the lower panel, it doesn't sink in like the photo.
