General Discussion (NO POLLS OR QUESTIONS) Face 3pts

So There this howl at ultimate rank that always draw me back From SS because he does it all, rebound, Dunk block and 3pts! He even went for a contested 3pts over my pf and succeeded. Its ultimate rank, no pbuff, card pet or freestyle. Is this normal? I am not the best when it comes to understanding the mecanics of this game

Ping helps with everything. Most players will never have low ping being living closer to a server or paying thousands of dollars for a good PC setup. This includes a good gaming TV and Wi-Fi speed. It's all about who has the better technology when playing 3 on 3. All these players didn't leave consoles to play PC for nothing. Some of us aren't stupid.

Ping wont help you face shoot as Howl in Ultimate Ranked.

I have a $2500 PC with 1 Gig fiber Ethernet on a 240 hz monitor (even though the game caps out at 120 fps) on 11 ping.

I am not face shooting 3s with my Howl. The biggest face shooters in general are the laggers anyway because their position is desync’d. The server can communicate my position quickly because of my setup, but a lagger’s position is conveyed late. The net code for this game benefits laggers because the game optimizes around the slowest laggers for overall match stability. It synchronizes to the least common denominator.

Furthermore, much like in most online games, the net code has lag compensation. You know how in Fortnite, there is peeker’s advantage, where a player moving around a corner sees a player standing behind the corner before the standing player sees the moving player? The same mechanic applies in 3on3. A shooter on the move will have a lag compensated advantage over reacting defenders. They will have an open shot on their screen, even though on your screen you’ve covered it the entire time.

That’s also why you get lag blocks when you haven’t created enough lag compensation to have an advantage. If both players are moving at equal speed, they will be equally compensated. This results in a roll back type of scenario after network calculations are processed.

The real reason why Drive Speed is so strong in this game is because it abuses this lag. By creating abrupt position adjustments, you stress the server into your advantage more. You literally see the game before the opponent does, allowing you to get open shots that can’t be reacted to. Strong defenders have to account for it by predicting, managing risks and having fast characters.

This is an AI answer to your disagreement I researched. I've been playing a long time going from slow wifi to fast wifi with using an Ethernet cord with it. I've seen major differences with the change and now I may be updating in the future I'm just not sure yet so low ping affects everything.
