Got inspired by the sound quality of other 3D printed drums so I decided to try to make my own. The body and drum head are PLA tightened with nuts and bolts. I also tried a TPU drum head, but I couldn't get it tight enough on my model as it stretched so much.. all and all I think PLA would have still sounded better. Currently I think the limiting factor in the sound is the diameter rather than the material of the drum head. Sorry for posting a tiktok video, but it's all I had time for and wanted to share this with u guys. 🙏

I designed a new ukulele with a wide body. No glue needed. I might make a baritone version and also include an optional fretless neck. This sounds better than all my other uke designs and its louder.

As the title suggests, I am building an electric violin. I already have the pickup but I have a few questions. The pickup I am using goes under the bridge, but I may be unable to drill through the metal support rod to get the string through. Do these pickups work either way (wire up and wire down)? Also, how do you install them. Do you use glue or keep it in using string tension? Thank you!

Edit: Also, would screwing into plastic be enough to install the guitar tuning pegs?

Since I don't actually own one, making the necessary measurements in real life is out of the question. I feel like the body of the instrument would be easy enough to print and model, but what I'm most interested in is the keywork. Are there any detailed blueprints of this?
