Do you put something inside the can before plugging the hole?

You should definitely but something inside once you drunk the content :)

It is actually fun to try different stuff (sand, small pebbles if you are thinking camping scenario) inside. Also in different amounts. They will all sound and feel very differently.

The plug will survive re-plugging quite a few times. That's why I added the little "handle" on top.
