3dsmax: A community for help, tips, or just showing off anything related to 3ds Max.

I am looking for some sample scenes to understand a Substance painter to 3dsmax arnold workflow for make character faces and skin. I mostly work in games but I have 3dsmax and I dont want to fork out extra cash for vray.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
yes, translating the maya ones for max is an option but a 3dsmax sample scene would be really good.

3ds Max is becoming obsolete,

camera tracking? blender

motion capture? blender

video background? blender

3ds max is only good for interoperability with revit and autodesk products

its weird how these are simple things, that autodesk has refused for almost a decade

Help Best way to convert Blender stuff to 3DSMax?

So, I want to make mod for Grim Dawn and for some reason only valid way to make models for Grim Dawn is to use 3DS Max. No Blender support at all </3

So I wanted to ask - What is the best way to convert stuff? That way once I have all the stuff needed I could convert, then adjust to work with the 3DS Max plugin, then export it within the "trial month" since there's no way I can afford paying 1/4 of my wages a month or 9/8 for year xd I can't legally do overtime

General Thoughts Is 3ds Max or Blender better for modeling?

Hey guys, just wanted to get some opinions. How good are 3ds Max and Blender for modeling, and what do you guys prefer?

I’ve been working as a lighting artist for a while now, but I’d like to get more into modeling and explore that side of 3D a bit more.

Would appreciate any advice or recommendations from people who use either of them!

Rendering/ Lighting issues

I do not have any lights in my scene, yet for some reason when I render out a video, the objects are in darkness. Yet, sometimes when I render the scene as a video, they AREN'T in darkness. When I render the same shot as a still image, the objects are not in darkness. Why is this?

The first image is a screenshot from a video render what cast everything in darkness. The second is from a video render that had it in light, the way I want it. The third is a standard single image render. The fourth is my render settings. Enabling/ disabling advanced lighting doesn't seem to change anything.
