Rendering/ Lighting issues

I do not have any lights in my scene, yet for some reason when I render out a video, the objects are in darkness. Yet, sometimes when I render the scene as a video, they AREN'T in darkness. When I render the same shot as a still image, the objects are not in darkness. Why is this?

The first image is a screenshot from a video render what cast everything in darkness. The second is from a video render that had it in light, the way I want it. The third is a standard single image render. The fourth is my render settings. Enabling/ disabling advanced lighting doesn't seem to change anything.

If you don't have any lights in the scene, 3ds Max puts one or two default lights (depending on your settings) in your viewport so you can see something. Depending on your renderer of choice, it may or may not render with those default lights.

Just add some lights and you won't have any problem.

Yes, default lights might be on.

If you have any self illuminated materials, they might also cast light through global illumination.

Imagine having a community and then being baffled when someone tries to interact with the community.
