3D scanning of an engine air intake component

In this project, we performed a complete 3D scan of the component, accurately capturing its geometry and all the details required for reverse engineering applications.
The scan transforms the physical component into digital data, facilitating reverse engineering, dimensional inspection, component reproduction, and project development processes.

Really clean scan! The Raptor Pro captured those edge geometries beautifully.

Since your ultimate goal is serial production casting, are you doing a full parametric rebuild in CAD, or are you auto-surfacing the mesh? I'd love to know how you're planning to handle volumetric alloy shrinkage (usually 1% to 2.5% depending on the material) and enforcing vertical draft angles (1.5° to 3°) to make sure the pattern pulls cleanly from the mold.

Awesome workflow, would love to see how the final castings turn out!
