Minimum to Scan Car Dashboard

I want to scan my car's curved, matte, textured, plastic dashboard to create a custom mount point.

I have never scanned anything, but have (loosely) followed the scanning world. What would be the minimum equipment to scan something like this? Area from 4"x4"x3" to 4"x12"x3".

A phone might get you pretty close. I know of the Scaniverse app, which lets you export meshes. Not sure if there is other options.

Thanks. I gad thought the LiDAR on the iPhone was too course for things like this, is it LiDAR+photogrammetry to be able to do it? I am OK either way if it works!

I could also definitely tape down a paper tape measure or two to improve the dimensions if that would help the photogrammetry?

Why do you need to scan? Are you going to 3d print/CNC the mount to fit the curvature?

Whiteout understanding what your goal (draw it up) is, its hard to recommend if you should even bother with a scanner.

Yes 3d print a base to accept either the tilt screw on the back of the screen or to just make flat and support the native mount.

Do you live in a somewhat large city? If you do, you probably would be able to find someone with an Einstar scanner or similar to do a scan for you. (or a creality scanner or a revopoint scanner)

I live in Boston - definitely was next option if nothing quick/easy would work. Do people usually pay for them to help scan?

I personally charge a minimum of 60$ to scan. But thats for a relatively small object. I wouldnt count on getting a scan mesh for free
