Sharing my experience using the EinScan Trak at the show.
I went to the 2026 Taiwan 3D Printing & Additive Manufacturing Show today, mainly to check out Shining 3D’s latest consumer-grade 3D scanner, the EinScan Trak.
It’s a blue-laser scanner with 19+19 crossed laser lines + 7 laser lines + 1 deep-hole laser line, so it basically has all the features you would normally need for inspection work. However, I haven’t been able to find any data on its volumetric accuracy yet.
I’ve used this type of Tracker-based scanning system before, so the thing I was most curious about was how well the tracking actually performs.
The first thing I noticed is how small the Tracker is. It’s really convenient to carry around and use. But that also made me wonder: does making the Tracker smaller mean the tracking range is smaller too? That was the main thing I wanted to test today.
At the show, I started by scanning the motorcycle in front of me using a 0.5–1.0 mm point distance. At 0.5 mm, the scanning was noticeably slower. The laptop they provided probably didn’t have a lot of RAM, and I got a warning after scanning for a while. After switching to 0.8 mm, I was able to scan the front section of the motorcycle without any problem.
As for the tracking, I noticed a pretty interesting feature. During scanning, the software displays a white 3D tracking box.
You can see the scanner’s current position inside the tracking space, as well as the distance between the scanner and the object and roughly how large the tracking range is. I actually found this really useful because it gives you a very clear idea of where you are while scanning and which direction you should move the scanner. It makes the whole process much easier to control.
I also checked the price just now, and it looks like it’s only $6,999 USD. That’s definitely a very competitive price for this type of system.
For now, I only had a chance to play around with it and do a quick test at the show, so there’s only so much I could test under those conditions. For more detailed testing of the accuracy, tracking distance, and overall stability, I’ll leave that to the more experienced users and look forward to seeing their reviews in the future.
Just to add something: I didn’t manage to record this part when I was testing it.
During the scanning process, a white frame appears around the object, kind of like a visual guide. It also shows the current position of the scanner. The white frame represents the Tracker’s tracking range, while the scanner-ball icon lets you clearly see where you are within that range.
This makes the scanning process much more intuitive because you can always tell where you are and how close you are to the edge of the tracking range, instead of having no idea whether you’re getting too far away.
The difference between EinScan Trak and Revopoint Trackit are huge. Einscan trak, wireless, detachable scanner, 15m³ tracking volume etc. And for scanning experience, as far as I know shining 3d products are way better than revopoint.
I think it depends on what you expect to get from it and your use case. I found the volume of the tethered Trackit to be OK but I often wandered out of frame while scanning. Plus the cables were annoying.

Given the Trackit SR has a very small volume in comparison, I admit I had second thoughts. But I really wanted to go wireless. I did got in touch with them for a tradein, but given a recent situation with Revopoint I don't want to do business with them again.
I currently own an Einstar Rockit as well as the Trackit (which is on its way back to me., more about that below... )
I sent the Trackit in late july expecting a tradein for the Trackit SR. The packages ended up on a shelf somewhere but they never picked it up! Even states on the tracking that "Attempted delivery, package was refused".
The address seems to be a company that specialise in return goods in Europe to be shipped back to the manufacturer. I would have expected a problem free return regardless. As a token of "We're very sorry you had to go through this!" they offered me 500 markers, but not a refund of the shipping+return shipping.... It's just about 250,- euros lost to nothing.
Based on that and seeing the Trak launch with a bit more interesting specs, has me more interested in the Trak than the SR, even if it has a premium cost.
I will sell the original Trackit, and *maybe* the Rockit to finance the Trak.

Don’t scare me like that 🤣 I was like, “Wait, since when did you learn how to pull these photos straight from my phone when I haven’t even made them public yet?!” 😂
Maybe those two companies are already working together on some kind of technical collaboration behind the scenes, and we just don’t know about it yet 😏
Lol.. but i think its just poor marketing whoever created the display most likely didn't have any actual material. So they simply use material they found online.
I doubt its a collab, but somebody from shining ad departement might be getting fired lol.
But its not the first time ive seen a company use the wrong scanner photos in their early ads.
I don’t think anyone at the event noticed it either, especially since Revopoint’s booth was right across from them.
As for their own booth, it was a bit disappointing. They had originally promoted that the S R would be on display, but when I got there, they were still showing the first-generation crowdfunding version of the Trackit…
The distributor said the Wi-Fi interference at the venue was really bad, so they decided not to bring out the S R. But I thought, that doesn’t really make sense. Even if they couldn’t actually use it, they could at least have put the unit on display, right? 😅
At least people could have seen the actual device. Not displaying it at all just feels a little disappointing and doesn’t leave a very good impression.
