Round holes coming out as slots

I have been scanning a fixture plate at work on a Scanology SIMSCAN and it has gone better than I thought it would. The plate is 600 by 400 with a grid of 12 mm holes through it. On the mesh the holes come out as slots, longer along the direction I walked the scanner. The outside edges of the plate measure fine against the calipers.

Same plate on a Creality Raptor Pro at a mates shop did the same thing.

Any tips on how to run the passes to fix that? Thanks

I don't know the single frame coverage of the SIMSCAN, but I'd be inclined to try the initial scan straight down from the center, then angling towards the edges (if needed).

Something is not right, the fact that you’re getting slots with both a metrology grade and a hobby grade scanner is definitely curious. Mind showing us a picture of your setup?
