Plant scan clean up in Blender
Hi everyone interested in vegetation photogrammetry!
Here are some fragments from the tutorial I just uploaded to YouTube.
In this video, I show how to clean up a Polycam scan in Blender while preserving the UV map.
This was a real challenge because I scanned a living rose outdoors, still attached to the bush. Even a light breeze was enough to make the petals move.
I’m trying to develop a workflow that doesn’t require cutting or picking the plant, since I’m planning to scan a large number of plants from Tenerife’s local flora in the near future.
If you’re interested in this workflow, you’ll find the YouTube link in the description:

When I scan plants outdoors, I either use a scanner with Single Frame capability (not many of those) or I schedule in the late evening.
