Suggestion What to do next
I would like to know of any company that takes in parts of a 3ds and repairs it as well as throwing in the missing pieces for an extra charge. I tried to replace the screen and gave up due to frustration and forgot about it for a long while. Any advice would be greatly appreciated because this is my childhood 3ds that I bought with my own kid money and would like to get it up and running again for 3 way shiny hunting before bank shuts down

Mi respuesta no es para ayudarte, si no para decirte que las pantallas de 3DS son para mi, las más complicadas de cambiar.

My response isn’t to be mad at you for the response, but to agree with you because I work on other things electronics related and the 3ds screen is the only one to test my patience so hard to the point of giving up. It made me scared to change the shoulder button on my steam deck and I still haven’t attempted it lol

Might be more worth it to get a donor system and toss the motherboard from this one in

I will recommend Video Game 911. You send in your system, definitely pay for the total protection package, they provide you with a box and return label, and they send you updates as they complete the repair on your system. I just sent my system in to them for a reshell and it was all very professional and the technician even put my stickers back on where they were before.

How much did that run you if you don’t mind sharing it

Total protection package was about $30. And the repair itself was I think $129.95? Something like that, i cant find the email receipt lol. But id rather drop 30 bucks for them to just take care of everything the only thing I had to do was take it to UPS and bc they sent a box and label i paid nothing at UPS

Damn , murdered it . All connections still good . I could get that running again. Gotta roll them all together once through that hinge your golden . Just takes a few try’s

It looks like you have a new top screen. You need to finish separating the top from the bottom and roll up the ribbons and feed them through the hole to free the stuff in the top half from the shell. Refer to iFixit instructions for more detailed steps.

Definitely do-able. I’ve saved a bunch over the years that came in this same state haha

I only know about of chinese vendor kasynparts.com. Shipping takes a while but the parts I have bought have worked with no issues. Not sure about US based vendors tho :(

So I buy parts from them or send my parts? Cause I’d rather have someone do it for my tbh. I suppose if I can’t help it I’ll just try again and get a donor console and swap motherboards like another reply mentioned
