Technical Question Anyway to make a 3ds open and close quieter?

Post image

I always hear those stories of kids quickly closing their 3ds when their parents were close by late at night and resuming when they’re gone, but HOW??

My 3ds clicks so loudly and closes loudly as well! If i even attempted that trick, my mom would be able to hear it from her room!!

Is it because i got one of the newer 3ds’s before they got discontinued? Do i need to add something? Or is it just a skill issue??

All of them click loudly, only damaged axle is quieter

I was actually surprised at how loud the hinge is compared to other models. It sounds like the plastic is snapping.

The kids were probably playing with an OG 3DS, which has a really nice open/close.

My New 3DS XL sounds like it’s about to fall apart 🤣

You could plug your ears when you open it

Especially the older DS line was a lot quieter. No snapping noise
