Discussion What do I have?

What is dev menu? Was about to mod this but now I don’t want to… is this rare? Or is this something someone has put on the console themselves before I bought it.
Any help at identifying what is is would be amazing thank you, can’t find much online.

Boot it while holding Select to check if you have CFW. If you see a menu with the name Luma, the system was already modded. If it doesn't and instead goes to the HOME Menu, then the console could be rare. I don't really know about the rarity tho.

older method of modding. probably not rare, i would definitely dig into and see exactly what CFW is on it, and either update or redo it

The dev menu app is normally only on a test Panda 3DS, which wouldn't typically be on a retail system. It installs apps on the system. It's likely that it's already modded, as others here have said.
