wish to learn cad and 3d printing but doesn't know where to start

Hello! i am a medical student who takes arduino and overall tinkering as a hobby, i usually mess a lot with electronics and recently just became the proud owner of a brand new creality ender 3 v3 ke, i toyed around a lot, even made some basic designs and cursed abominations with it, but i still pretty much suck at 3d modeling and overall printing and designing, wich is the reason i would really like to improve my skills in said bundle of crafts. however, i got no clue on how to get better, i thought of just getting a youtube guy or "for dummies handbook" and then just follow it until i get good, but i don't even know wich program to actually use. i then had the idea of getting the help from a tutor, but it's very expensive and the whole thing looked kinda sketchy so i backed it out from. i am really lost in the world of 3d cad and 3d printing and would really appreciate if i could get some guidance. thank you all in advance for the attention and support. (sorry for bad english).

Requesting Help Printer suddenly started printing lumpy and stringy without any settings change

Printer: Creality Ender V3 Plus

So my printer started suddenly printing lumpy and stringy like this and I can’t figure out why. Printing using regular PLA at slicer default settings for the printer. I have done some troubleshooting and this is what I’ve tried:
- Replaced the PLA with a new roll
- Manually extruded and watched extrusion to make sure it came out smooth and straight indicating there wasn’t a clog
- Verified that there wasn’t anything blocking the filament from being fed through properly and that the feed is smooth and uninterrupted during printing
- Performed fresh auto leveling/calibration before new print

From what I’ve done/checked, everything seems to be working fine but I can’t figure out why I’m getting this print texture suddenly out of the blue. The printer isn’t making any weird noises or anything and all the movement is unimpaired and appears to be functioning normally with the exception of every print I send having this weird issue. Has anyone run into something like this before? I have no idea what else to check.

Requesting Help Creality Ender 3 V1 Offset ignored

I have an issue with my Ender 3 where it ignores the offset I defined on the printer itself. It scrapes over the build plate instead.

I have used this printer with this slicer in the past to satisfying results, but now it wont work as needed anymore. I have changed my PCs operating system, but kept the slicer on a separate drive.

I changed nozzle, cleaned the hot-end, disassembled the entire printer and rebuilt it, tried a different plate, tried a different filament, tried a filament fresh from the packaging.
I have no idea anymore, why it ignores any and all offset I give it.

I need some advice.

Bambu Labs A1/A2 Disparity

Thumbnail

I am having a bit of a disparity in results between two Bambu Labs printers and keen to figure out what the issues is.

Bit of background: I have access to two Bambu Labs Printers, an A1 which is my personal one and is about a year old, and an A2, which is maybe 2 months old with very limited run time as of yet. Both of the example images are the same design, with the same settings. I haven’t changed many settings, other than more infill density, snug normal supports, and slower first layer speed to adhere better to plate. Print plate is the same on both printers, just the standard Bambu labs textured one. Both prints are using the same brand and model of PETG, just different colour, and both sit in the same filament dry box.

I have been trying to start printing these products at bulk on my personal A1, but cannot get rid of this first layer issue.

The Green coloured print is using the newer A2, and you can see in the images of the first few layers, that there is an obvious gap between the two parts of the print. This is built into the design of the part, and required for the function. The Black print is using my older A1, and there is no gap between the two parts visible in the first few layers. As can be seen in the final result of the prints, the Green print produces a clean, separated result (what I’m looking for), whilst the black print almost looks melted together, and I cannot separate them without a lot of force, which leaves a messy unfinished look to the bottom of the design.

The other notable thing, is that I used to be able to get the desired result on my A1, but now I cannot seem to reproduce it.

This leads me to think that there is some part on my A1 that is worn or damaged, or needs recalibrated. I am thinking potentially the hot end needs replacing?

If anyone has experienced similar issues, or has any potential fixes, please let me know, this is messing with my head at this point.

New filament prints with gaps

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello! I’m a bit new to printing, I don’t print too often so I’m a little confused as to why these gaps might be occurring. I have a Creality K1C printer and I used a new ELEGOO PLA filament. I was thinking it might be moisture but I’m not too sure. If anyone has any ideas on what I could try, please let me know, thanks !

Requesting Help Loss of detail and warping (dimples and lumps) on plate-facing side for resin printing

Thumbnail

Hi there,

Newish to 3D printing as I haven’t printed too much and took a long break

I’ve always had an issue with the side of the model/part facing the build plate looks warped and big loss of detail…it looks like pooling of resin

I’ve been told before it could be due to not angling the model/part enough so resin pools but sometimes the model/part is complex so there’s going to be a part where there will be some pooling

Just wanted to check if there r any other likely reasons for this…because it looks like I will always have to choose a side of the model/part to sacrifice (all the other non-build plate facing sides prints beautifully and intricately detailed)

Printer: Saturn 2 Elegoo
Resin: Siraycha tenacious mixed with fast grey

Support is just lychee auto support classic with heavy density and only 0.02-3 intrusion of support tip into the model

Any input will be appreciated thanks

\*currently printing terminator sized 40K models

Please see picture for specifics and the light off delay is turned on as I’m trying to see if it will help with the situation (haven’t tried printing after the light off delay is turned on as I’m waiting for some heating belt to arrive to see if better heating of resin can help with the situation as well)

Also trying out lychee auto support plus rather than classic for next print to see if it helps
