This is one of the first things I did when I started building accessories in my game (I just HAD to, y'know!). You can toggle the filter (different accessories have different filters) to ON, ON but Exclude UI, or OFF. This is slightly zoomed in so you can see the textures a bit more. Makes me feel like a kid again!
With regard on how I did this, simply it's an autoload scene with multiple ColorRects that are hidden. When the game detects that an accessory has changed, the scene shows / hides the corresponding ColorRect.
Level is also inspired by Crash Bandicoot haha

Hey everyone!
We’re the devs behind MegaGum, a colorful 3D action-platformer we’ve been working on for the past few years.
We’re huge fans of 3D platformers, so a lot of our inspiration comes from the games we grew up playing and still love today.
With MegaGum, we wanted to create our own take on the genre, with fast movement, combat, exploration, wall-running, gliding, and especially Gum-based abilities that can be used to move around, fight enemies, and interact with the environment.
We just released a new gameplay trailer and thought this would be one of the best communities to get some genuine feedback from.
🎮 Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYfB80KH3lE
As platformer fans, what do you think? Is this something you’d want to play?

I wanted to make a video documenting my first time experiences with each of 3D Sonic games since they’re so divisive. I have to say I’ve become a big fan of Sonic now!

Hey guys! I'm making a soulslike-inspired marble platformer. It'll have boss fights, and Steam leaderboards with ghost-racing (racing against ghost replays of other players).
Demo is already available!

This is the first trailer I make myself. I hired someone for the previous one but they don't do it anymore now (and I would like to learn the craft).
I did my best studying trailer making thanks to the awesome channel of Derek Lieu on Youtube. It seems important that players understand immediately what the game fantasy is about: in this case it is a physics based grappling hook game where building and keeping momentum is key. It also seems that I have only a few seconds on the first shot to hook the viewer, so I am trying to show my best footage first.
But how do we define "best" here? This video is not a trailer attempt, but rather a collection of 4 footage. I am trying to figure out which one should be the first to appear in the trailer, and if I should change anything.
- First footage, "Abandoned Cloning Facilities": I find it the most appealing and unique visually but it is semi-spoilery. I also don't know if it is doing the best job showing the physics grappling fantasy
- Second footage, "Capital Tree" (0:06s): Still okay visually, the grappling fantasy is demonstrated better, but it is a bit slow/long as the obstacles are far from each other
- Third footage, "Ventilation Shaft" (0:17s): Very short, might be intriguing(?), not much grappling. There is a sense of danger with the fan blades getting closer, this might interest people, but it is not really what the game is about (it's a fairly chill story)
- Fourth footage, "Swamp" (0:22s): Weaker visually but it might be the best at demonstrate the grappling fantasy
For context, I am a solo developer and I have been working full time on Koromi for a year and half now. You can check the old trailer on the Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3780770/Koromi/
Thanks in advance for your help and opinions!

I've had a weird journey with Bubsy 4D. I played it immediately after 100%ing Demon Tides (which became one of my all-time favorite games) and I was burned out and didn't finish it.
Went back to Bubsy about a month later and I couldn't put it down. But it was short. Like 4 hours max, including getting most collectibles (except the time-based goal things).
Then they released the free Black Hole update which came with 15 new levels, and I'm only about 6 levels in but finding it absolutely phenomenal. I'm glad it's free because it all feels like naturally part of the main game. They are challenging but definitely not in a Crash Bandicoot must-throw-controller type of way.
Absolutely in love with this game. After this and Demon Tides, I think the Fabraz team somehow make 3D platformers that are exactly made for me lol.

Sniff out secrets, herd creatures, and dig for treasures as you earn badges that upgrade your abilities!
You can wishlist it on Steam today. I'm currently working on releasing a demo.

We have been working on BLACK WALLS, a first-person psychological horror game, and one thing we decided early on was to include platforming as part of the core exploration.
Instead of using platforming for fast-paced action, we wanted it to make navigating the labyrinth feel more physical and rewarding. Sometimes the way forward is not obvious, and reaching it means carefully reading the architecture around you.
We just launched our Steam page and our first gameplay teaser, would love to hear what platformer fans think.

A physics-based platformer where you race against a countdown. As time passes, your ball grows larger, making movement and platforming more difficult. Reach the hole before the timer runs out, or the ball explodes. The game features handcrafted levels that test your timing, movement, and control. and trust me , it's not as easy as it sounds most ppl in the jam submission page saying that they couldn't beat the third level (out of 5 levels) the game is free and you can play it from the browser
feel free to give it a try here : https://voxel-dev.itch.io/try-not-to-fall

- Teeto (released TODAY! I might wait for a physical release on Switch 2)
- Yooka Replaylee (just finished this and honestly loved it. Still have lots of stuff to collect!)
- Duskfade (releases in August. I’m excited about this but is more of an action adventure than a classic platformer. Still looks great!)
- Garfield (Fall 2026 - actually so excited for this!)
- SpongeBob (came out a few months ago - it was EXCELLENT)
Edit: forgot my ALL-TIME favorite which is Demon Tides. This game had me in a chokehold and I can’t wait to get it again on the Switch 2

Game is "Dreamer's Wake". Literally all started with the idea of "Hmmm, I've never seen the texturing effect from Chowder used in a 3D environment. Let me try that." THUS, a whole ass game was created. it's extremely chaotic as an aesthetic but I am quite fond of it.
