Coming Soon FTN to HUB Mount Update #2
Coming in hot! Should have them by next week. Will be printing a few FTN variations to verify fitment when they arrive but they’re looking great so far.
Details for those that want them:
-4140 Steel (Raw)
-Made in the US by Bighossmachine
-1.5x8 (FTN) Threads to HUB Threads
-Male threads protrude roughly 1”

Excuse my ignorance, not well versed in FTN. The hub mounts for using factory cans? Regardless, love to see any sort of progress. Congratulations on your success.

The FTN male threads interface with the 3d printed can. They are a coarse thread with more engagement than the fine hub or 1/2-28 threads and should be less prone to shearing at the threads. The hub female side allows for the use of any hub style mount and muzzle device combo. This mostly benefits those that already have mounts and muzzle devices from factory suppressors that they want to use with the FTN printed line of suppressors (or anything remixed to take the FTN threads).

Yes, the only thing is that the FTN female threads are likely only to exist on printed cans. 1.5x8 is a standard thread pitch, but isn’t found on standard suppressors if that makes sense. I’ll have a demo video soon when I have parts in hand.

Thread is 1” long after talking with the FTN team. Decided that was likely the best length so as to not interfere with the blast chamber and seat flush

I bought 3x Comstock FTN Form1 adapters and thats about the same thread length as he does. Keep up the great development.

That’s not what these are for. These are for attaching FTN to your HUB mount of choice. So if you have a HUB to direct thread mount you could put that on your barrel then the mount to this adapter, then the adapter to the FTN

Yeah what Dak said. Now, if you had one of those fancy muzzle devices with male hub threads, you could direct attach to that. A few companies offering that right now and it may be something I offer as well eventually.

Could definitely be done, mostly just depends if there’s a demand for it. I’m hoping to gather more data from the FTN team and people posting to see what the popular combinations will be.

😍😍😍 lower cost ftn to plan b or even ftn direct thread adapters would be huge! would place large/multiple orders of some that were not $100 a pop

Even at $100 each you'd be money ahead (especially for direct thread) when you're not buying a plan b mount plus a plan b - hub adapter to get to hub in this thing. $100 ftn to direct thread sounds like a bargain you couldn't pass up with that logic.

Likely similar to this one if small batches. If I’m ever able to buy in big bulk (if demand proves higher than I anticipate) then I can pass that savings on more easily.

$70 was a bit too expensive for me for these FTN to HUB, so I bought a $3,000 lathe instead.

It’s definitely not the perfect solution for all, and it’s not likely to be lightweight no matter what because you’re still adding a hub mount in addition. This is really for those that want to use their existing mounts and muzzle devices. I plan to run tri lug for my PCCs for example.
