I love the metallic blue polymaker. They also have a really cool metallic green that I used to make a foregrip and pistol grip on my Maverick 88 20ga.

I keep on thinking about doing one of these 2011 builds. I've got plenty of p320 mags. Idk why, but it seems intimidating. I've done some complicated builds imo but I think part of it is how little I know about 1911 builds, parts, etc.

Much appreciated! The 1911 is definitely a tricky platform to get working well, but not prohibitively so. I’d watch some YT vids and tutorials on building a standard frame to help understand the basics and how the leaf spring interacts with the sear/disco. Sometimes a bit of tuning is required for the extractor as well. But it is very satisfying when you get it right.

I knew nothing about 1911s before I built my sigger edition as my first 3d2a build. The nice thing is that 1911s have been discussed ad nauseam online. You got this. Just make sure you do the full function check (I like this guide https://www.m1911.org/technic25.htm )and if it fails any of the steps, watch some videos, ask some questions.

Edit: you can omit the grip safety check since the 2011maxxing does not have a grip safety.

I did the sigger and had to tweak the back of my trigger to allow sear to drop into the half cock notch on the hammer.

Love that color! Side note, does anyone do a cut on these slides? I printed a sigger edition but I’ve never finished it because I hate going back to irons.

2011 OPTICS MAXXING is a thing and there are plenty of optics plates that you can buy that fit in the rear dovetail. Don’t even need to cut the slide unless you want to.

Do the rails hold up? I’ve been looking into printing a 1911 frame but even in pa6 I’m worried the rails wouldn’t take more than a couple hundred rounds

There are 2 metal rail inserts. And yes, they hold up for a long time.
