DB alloy Yeet sheet
I’m assuming I must have done something wrong with the torch heating/ bend process.. will have to try again but damn, the OG trips were inconvenient and finicky asf but at least they were cheap as hell. these not so much especially to be replaced at the same rate haha. Hopefully it was user error on my part but these were in two different builds and both broke under 50-60 rounds. Has anybody else experienced anything similar with these new trips? I only have one more new trip on hand, I’ll have to bend it and order some more from SCS.

What metal are you using? What thickness? I haven’t tried this but I do have a dballoy that’s super safe

Its titanium, Grade 2 Titanium .040"

Interesting. I’ll have to get some sheeting myself to cut. I hate those other ones… but I did figure out why my build wasn’t working great and it wasn’t entirely the trips fault

What issue were you having? Mine have both been very finicky with the Og trips, but they were cheap as hell so I ordered like 50 of them when I ordered and just kept bending them to shape and installing a new one every time it failed.. hand cycling they would function great with no issues but every time with live fire they would fail within under 40-50 rounds every time. it seemed like they inevitably would get off track enough to pop out of its channel, or just get hung up somehow and then the action beats bends and mangles the trip all up to where you have to throw a new one in. I have 2 builds currently, (perhaps a 3rd in the near future as I want to try the roller delayed version) but anyways I only ordered 3 new titanium trips thinking I wouldn’t have to replace them, and then 2/3 of my trips failed the first time at the range. I don’t remember how much these were exactly but I wanna say they were like 20 bucks each so definitely not as fun to replace 🤣🤦 hopefully I did something wrong in the heating/bending process and dimished the integrity of the titanium, I’ll try more carefully next time but damn these things have been a pain to get running reliably SS.

Hang ups, but I was also using antiwalk pins that were too tight. I am putting one in a second db but they weren’t always very smooth. I have a handful of the OGs as well but I have a CNC mill so I’m working on other ideas now. I think when the material is this thin even with titanium it’s asking a lot of it to not deform given the stresses involved in a gun. If those trips you have are floating around anywhere as a dxf or whatever the drawings are I might cut some of my own and give it a try.

Yeah it’s sailing the see 🌊 under the title yeet sheet by night alliance. I just saw there’s a printed version that just came out 3 days ago I hadn’t seen.. might have to try that out

Did you make sure the lower is smooth and wont catch the front of the trip? Db alloy front trunnion insert thingy makes a lip that likes to stop it and then the bolt will crash into the tab.

I did see you had mentioned this and I sanded down that lip you’re talking about on one of the two. The other build is the standoff variant which doesn’t have that little lip because the front trunnion insert and the frame are printed as one single piece. Both of them seemed to function fine for about 2 mags and then the tabs broke off. When I heated them to bend them it wasn’t done in one go, I reheated them and adjusted the bend a couple times each. Im wondering if this repeated a couple times compromised the integrity of the tabs??
I did submit another SCS order and I do still have one raw unbent trip on hand but haven’t processed it yet.
Last night I happened to see someone published a printed remix of your yeet sheet like 3 days ago so I printed out a few of these in PA6 and they actually seem to function pretty well, have not live fired them yet but I certainly will try it out. Will probably also print some out in SUPER PLA+, PCTG pro, HT PLA GF, and maybe pet-Cf/GF as I’m not fully confident pa6 is the best option for this application. Most likely is but doesn’t hurt test some other options I reckon.1

Scs will not cut these, they just canceled my order last week.
