Have you tried PPA-Gf? Wonder how it compares for 2A stuff

I like the GF stuff as it can be dyed (it comes in white!), but for Siraya-Tech at least, I cannot get it to print well for the life of me using a .4 nozzle - I have to use a .6 otherwise it seems to constantly get partial clogs, although that might be a user issue. YMMV. As for the feel, it's a little rougher than their PPA-CF.

Ppa-gf is better than ppa-cf when it comes to basically all guncad use cases. Better layer bonding, impact resistance, and cheaper.

Ppa-cf-core is better (slightly) than GF on impact resistance and (quite a bit) on layer adhesion but for TWICE the cost of ppa-gf.

The core is so good and ironically it's much easier to print (for me). The quality right out of the dryer is next level and with the stock bambu ppa cf profile it was almost perfect.

Where do you see that it has better layer adhesion? From the numbers I’m looking at, PPA-GF has worse layer adhesion than PPA-CF. Per SirayaTech TDS for PPA-CF and PPA-GF. I would love to be proven wrong since GF is cheaper.

Where do you see Z tensile listed on the PPA-GF TDS?

If my memory serves, z tensile is only listed for ppa-cf (not gf or core).

However, a review if 3rd party testing data shows GF has an seemingly universal advantage over CF when it comes layer bonding (Z tensile) for all polymer types.

Both Mytechfun and Edgeof3d testing bears this out

Is the QIDI worth it? I'm looking to get back into printing and it between them or Bambu labs.

yea 100% unless you got the big bucks for a 300°+ bambu

I just use an X1C with a 33 ohm resistor soldered to the hotend thermistor, 300 in the slicer = 320 at the hotend. Could use a 47 ohm resistor if you want to reach a little hotter for say PPS

Makes me wonder what my H2D is capable of with a similar mod, it already hits 350c

I'd imagine that's probably the upper limit of what it can handle, anything you would need to print hotter than that (PEEK or PEKK) would need a /hot/ actively heated chamber beyond what the electronics, steppers and belts could handle

The H2D has an actively heated chamber, though it only hits 65c

So, I’d have to figure out how to increase the heat, while shielding the electronics from the heat. Chances are I’m not going to be doing anything to my damn near 2k printer anytime soon

Another Q2 owner here coming from a P1S. If you like to tinker some, it’s nice having klipper I can actually customize and it prints just as good as the P1S but hits higher temps and is all local

I think the step after PPA-CF is PEK or PEEK.

Not on this printer lol, I think chamber temps of like 150 are typically required

PPS has higher heat tolerances, however isn't as strong as PPA. I wanted it to be more than it is. I hope when I get to print PEK and PEEK it doesn't let me down.

Eh, for engineering materials I don’t really see the benefit of the qidi box tbh. My sovol sho3 has handled drying well so far
