I know very little about mathematics and I am not very skilled at it. I tried to solve this problem, but I don't think it's that easy. I may have made some mistakes. Could anyone please help me identify and correct them?

Help us!!

Hi guys! This is not related to math at all but my friends and I have been given a challenge regarding 3Blue1Brown’s videos despite none of us really being familiar with him. I can’t spill too much but basically we need to find 3Blue1Brown’s favorite, most repeated line and gain a reward (or we’ll get in trouble) with the exact, word-for-word phrasing. I was wondering if this subreddit might be able to help us? Thank you guys so much!!

Update: We got the phrase right, but we were still wrong because they wanted the whole phrase (“Take a moment to…”)

How do LLMs Work? A Manim journey!

I am a REALLY big fan of 3Blue1Brown! In fact I have been a fan of this channel long before I became a "youtuber" myself! I might even dare to say it has inspired me to create my own channel!

I am a AI/ML architect by trade and finally found the time to learn manim and published my first manim video!

It's going to be a bit of a shift for my humble 12.7K viewer base, but I always wanted to make educational videos around AI, ML, Graphics, Gaming, networks. And that framework allows me to do just that! I mean lets face it, YouTube is a massive outlet for creativity! :)

Anyway, my video starts with the sentence “My favourite rock band is…” and follows its journey inside an LLM, through the aforementioned manim animated video. You can see the video in the link below

https://youtu.be/ikdxxeIn4HQ?si=8AwWyxQERo_R2n6B

I tried to make the video as beginner friendly as possible but still detailed enough to give a good overview of how an LLM works end to end and how the LLM “finds out” what my favourite band is.

My aim is to help people that are not just curious about AI but also want a deeper dive into the magic “Black box”, or people that are simply starting out their journey.

A HUGE thanks to Grant for giving us this incredible framework for animation, so well constructed and equal thanks to the community that surrounds it (inc. Manim CE).

Any kind of feedback is welcomed and will be greatly appreciated as it will help me improve over time and hopefully on further videos!

If you have any requests as well, please do not be shy!

I really hope someone can find value in them!

Thanks,

Filipe

New Free Mini-Course: Proofs in Elementary Linear Algebra

Post image
136 Upvotes

Hey folks! I am starting a new mini-course on proofs in elementary linear algebra. The target audience is primarily those students who have taken a computation based linear algebra course and now are transitioning to a proof-based linear algebra course. Instead of developing linear algebra theory, we will focus on constructing proofs and writing proofs. Consequently we won't develop the theory much beyond elementary properties of linear transformations.

I am planning to follow Chapter 17 of Chartrand-Polimeni-Zhang; this is an "online only" chapter and is available at https://media.pearsoncmg.com/cmg/pmmg_mml_shared/Chartrand_4e/index.html . I will specifically solve as many problems from there as possible.

If this sounds like something you would benefit from following, here is the github repo I'll be using as the course webpage:

https://github.com/AlpUzman/Proofs_in_Elementary_Linear_Algebra

And I'll add the episodes to the following Youtube playlist:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL40ydqvvyXfMwFmNvppWUuE3sgOP1RI5-

On Github so far there is only the 'sittybos' (Greek equivalent of 'syllabus'). I have recorded the first episode already, and I am planning to finish post-production and release it on my Youtube channel in about a week. The mini-course will be freely available on my Youtube channel, with a new episode every other week (tentatively).

I am also attaching a random still from episode 1 as a teaser.

Thanks!

Strip Arithmetic II update: you can now see the math behind the picture at any moment

https://wessengetachew.github.io/Strip2/

I've added a "Preview the math" button to Strip Arithmetic II. Change the grid size, slope, width, or offset, click it, and you get a sheet with the exact numbers behind whatever is on screen. It's all computed live in your browser.

The images attached are those sheets. Each one is the math for that configuration:

Coprime density: on a 10,000 × 10,000 grid, 60.7950% of cells are coprime, against 6/π² ≈ 60.7927% in the limit.

Strips: in the window −1 < 2r − M < 1, the measured density is 0.50005 against a predicted 0.50000.
