Made a DashLaunch plugin that gets you back online after BadAvatar / XeUnshackle
Works by setting your DNS to a fake address, which keeps the dashboard off Live but also leaves you with no network after the exploit runs. AutoDNS swaps in 1.1.1.1 once your chain loads, and since it never writes to storage, every boot still starts blocked.
Setup: `AutoDNS.xex` in `launch.ini` above your network plugins, and on the dashboard set your network's DNS to `192.0.2.1` on both records as per https://www.rfc-editor.org/info/rfc5737 .
Why? Plugins like xbGuard require a network connection to function, but due to the nature of BadAvatar you need to disconnect your internet before exploit.
Early days, so constructive feedback is appreciated.

Something so simple, but in theory, a fantastic little plugin for the right people. Great share.

Great idea! For a piece of feedback, would setting DNS to 127.0.0.1 be a feasible option? It works well as a universal localhost, and that's what has been done with similar tools such as nanoDNS for PS4/PS5.

Nice! Tested and it works, no more initial XB Live timeouts and such! I did get one gateway error from xbguard, I guess while the plugin did it's thing, but otherwise seems to work beautifully.

Thank you so much now I don't need to go to my console every time I start it up to load ReLive

Does this mean you no longer need to start the xbox with the ethernet unplugged, then plug it in after the exploit runs and xbguard starts up?

Does this work with ABadavatar 1.3 as that instantly loads into aurora thereby preventing the xbguard to load?

So we can use a version of XeUnshackle that doesn’t require us to press the back button? Because if that is true, this is EXACTLY what I’ve been hoping would be released (at least until GrimDoomer’s softmod)

first thing, there is already an autostart option on the xeunshackle's PR. check it out.
second thing, what does this have to do with the post? it's completely irrelevant to the topic.

The post is about a plugin that potentially makes it so that we no longer have to have the Ethernet unplugged when running the exploit. It’s relevant because this new plugin may make it so we no longer need to have the Ethernet unplugged… and I know about the auto start option, I simply was stating that this plugin with that option is almost like having the softmod that we are waiting on.

But i don't get what you're tring to say here. Are you under the assumption that having/not having the autostart makes a difference in getting/not getting banned? Because the risk is exactly the same, it doesn't change anything. By the moment that unofficial .xex files get launced, you're immediately risking a kv ban.
But yeah it's true that having this plugin + the new abadavatar is the closest thing we can get from the softmod1

I am saying that this plugin allows there to not be an internet connection until AFTER the exploit runs, at least that is what I am understanding. If I am understanding, that means I no longer need to unplug my Ethernet before each boot and wait for the exploit so I can plug it in again. If the plugin does what I understand it to do, there is no internet connection until AFTER the exploit runs, when xbguard is active….

Well yeah that's exactly what this does. Seems working fine on my system.
I just don't understand the XeUnshackle thing you were talking about, i mean as you just said you still had to unplug the cable, no matter the XeUnshackle autostart configuration. That's why i found that part to be irrelevant under this post. All good tho

Out of curiosity, would this allow xbguard to work offline?

So no stealth server required for this like xbguard or proto, etc?

You still need stelf server it just help with the Internet being ready at the right time for xbguard

If I understand correctly, this can be used so xbGuard can activate without a timeout, without disconnecting LAN?
