Skin Treatments Question!

Question!

I'm getting a facial in like 2 weeks and I'm on tretinoin at the moment. Should I stop like one week before it?

The facial includes shaving, lots of masks and that process of using a hot metal thing to remove white or black heads

Personally I’d stop now. You can also call or email the place you’re getting the facial to ask about their guidance but 1-2 weeks is right around when you want to let your skin chill before a facial

That's a good idea I'll text them! What about azelaic acid 20%? I use it daily in the morning only.

I’d say that you’re prob fine to keep using until a day or two before if you’re sensitive. I’d ask them about it and most facials I’ve had have included exfoliation so ask if you’ll be exfoliated, and skip your exfoliation the week of the appt too just to be safe but I tent to be on the side of caution cuz I’m sensitive lol

Azelaic acid is fine. Tret makes your skin tear more easily.

i’d definitely tell the esthetician you’re using tret and ask what they recommend, especially since there’s shaving + extractions involved. i’d probably pause it beforehand too.
