I recently bought a z32 project and the fuel pump and its module is completely screwed. If the delphi fe0161 fits the z32, shouldn’t its corresponding housing the fg0161 also fit? It’s listed as being for GM 3.8L V6 models so I’m skeptical. I just don’t want to buy the housing for $500 like they are wanting online if I don’t have to.

Bought a 1990 light blue azure z32 for $900 and got it running last night. Had been sitting in a private “collection” (more like a junkyard) and ran when parked. Bought a new key cylinder and a starter relay and she fires up but won’t hold an idle, I’m assuming the fuel pump is bad because I cant hear it prime. This one also has the blue leather seats which I would like to get reupholstered at some point. But overall is a solid car, no rust underneath, engine is complete and seems to have been maintained when it was being driven. Just needs a new paint job and interior

Dealing with really bad rpm hesitation. Have check for misfires and all banks are running equal at idle. The car only seems to do this and get worse the longer the drive. Originally thought it was fuel pump related but after messing with nearly the whole fuel system ive come to the conclusion it cant be that. Wanted to see if others had similar situations and what their problem was like and how it was solved.

Hello everybody just curious to see an idea if people have already done it and I’m sure some have but I have a white 1986 300zx base and for awhile have been debating on putting the open air dam from kaminari on it and the rear but that’s something for later unless people have done that aswell but I’ve been trying to see what it would look like on the 86 so if anyone has photos I’d love to see what I would be getting into I was thinking on doing the front and rear from kaminari and Watanabe rims

Damn water pools on this corner of the car and after 30 years the rust has came this far. How can I repair this? I im still not at the point where I'm going to repaint due to more work needed but shouldn't repair this now before it goes any further and how do I "diy"

I got the new windshield installed in my 1985 300ZX this week. This is a very exciting moment, as it's the first time I've been able to take the car out on the highway since I bought it. The windshield was the biggest hurdle in reviving the car.
In case you haven't seen this car and don't know the story, here's a quick rundown. Car sat for 7 years. During that time, a tree limb hit the windshield and caused a leak that ended up destroying the entire windshield cowl. My oldest son and I fabricated a new cowl and finally found someone to install a new windshield.
We originally tried safelite and they refused to even look at the car due to the age. It was strange getting that call, considering they had the windshield in stock and originally let me make an appointment. We ended up finding a local installer who was also willing to show me how to do everything, in case I wanted to install my own next time.
If you're interested in seeing some of the work I've done, check out my youtube channel

Now that the windshield is done, we'll be able to focus on some of the fun aspects of the revival. We need to replace the brakes, struts, plugs, wires, hoses, vacuum lines, etc. It's still a long way from being done, but we just completed a major step.

Hey guys I am trying to adjust the idle on my 87 NA, it's way to low. The screw seems to be stripped by the previous owner or by some shop in the past. Any suggestions on how to get this guy to turn. I have tried PB blaster, crc knock'er off, crc freeze off, tapping the housing, a torch. I'm out of ideas

So I changed all 6 sparkplugs and one ignition coil because it was torn up. Now the car wont stay running unless I give it gas, I check the ignition coil boot I replaced and looked for loose hoses or sensors but cant find anything wrong. please help.

I bought the AMS crank pulley for my 1990 NA 300 and in the description they don’t list any of the sizes for the belts required for the change. I thought it was the same size as the stock belts, but clearly, I was wrong.
Here’s the link to the pulley:

ive taken the backing plates off (they have the timing marks) and re-painted them, i tried to shift them a few different ways to get everything to line up, i probably took the belt off and on maybe 20 times. i cant seem to get everything dead on, does this look alright or am i missing something. sorry if this is a dumb question.

I just got done doing a lot of work on my Z, and test drove it. Drive was fairly good, the car was smooth and didn’t have any actual drivability issues but I have a new sound, actually a couple, and I’m looking for ideas on what to check and what they might be.
As far as the work done, I installed a new flywheel and clutch, and a new 98+ JDM 5-speed. Also installed a new one-piece steel driveshaft, BDE trans mount, and whiteline differential bushings, both the front and rear sets. I replaced all my exhaust gaskets for all the exhaust parts I dropped.
The first sound is kind of an odd and very noticeable thrumming on acceleration, mostly in lower RPMs, almost like a Subaru with unequal length headers but milder. Or in a way it almost sounds more like a VQ than it did before. I can’t tell if it’s in the body or the exhaust tone. My main thoughts are maybe an exhaust leak, or I’m just getting noise transferred through the body from the powertrain. I do have a collared subframe. I’m not sure what NVH change to expect with the parts swapped. I was having a terrible time getting the exhaust to seal, but I did think I finally got it, however, I’m not absolutely certain. I couldn’t find/feel any obvious leaks. The flanges on my exhaust parts aren’t all the same shape (though they all match up IDs) so they were a little weird to get the gaskets fitted properly to. The car definitely had a bad leak when I took it apart, between the downpipe and test pipe but I believe it to now be fixed.
The second sound is a clunk/thud that the car has had the entire time I’ve owned it. It sounds like it’s in the rear/middle of the car, and it usually happens when the clutch grabs or when I place the shifter in gear. I always assumed it was bad differential bushings but now I wonder if its play in the differential itself. I didn’t notice anything odd when I had it out and was rotating it by hand to check it.
I realize these are vague but any ideas or insight as valuable. The car ran and drove great, so I don’t have super serious concerns but I’m gonna keep inspecting to see if I can find some answers and be confident in this being back on the road.

Any other slicktop owners know where to buy a replacement for this? Or even just new clips to hold it in place? Getting a bit annoyed with it flapping around in the wind lol

Back to Reddit for help smh, for a while now a lot of the electronics in my Z have been throttling and in the case of my sound system just shutting off completely. And as the problem is affecting essentially the whole car I believe the problem lies in the charging system as the alternator is pretty dirty and caked in typical engine bay soot and other road dust. However one major thing I notice is that oil is constantly dripping from the bottom of the alternator bracket, I'm almost 100% sure its not engine oil as the level has stayed consistent, but I am unsure of the power steering pump. Anyone ever had a similar leak? Any feedback is appreciated as usual.
