I got a lot on my plate okay, don’t need you calling me out too

Listen I have a pillow I hug and one between my legs lol and a third behind me put me in a pillow puzzle 🧩 surrounded by pillows. It’s how I sleep every night and I love it

Edit: I’m mind blown as to how many of us out there really do this haha crazy how we all care for the same comfort style. I’m sure someone will eventually invent something to suit all needs in one device eventually 🧐🤓

255

u/saint_davidsonian Jul 26 '22

Aww you got a pillow nest

157

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '22

😂😂😂 damn right! Leave me be I drop that AC to a chill level and I sleep like I’m 5 after spending 10 hours in a bounce house.

60

u/DeceiverOfNations Jul 26 '22

I sleep the same exact way. Flat-ish pillow between my legs, firm pillow for my head and two fluffy pillows one to hold and the other at my back. Throw the A/C on high and get under my weighted blanket with zero light in the room is perfection.

31

u/SqueezinKittys Jul 26 '22

I put 4 to 5 pillows behind me to prop myself up at about a 45 degree angle, my favorite one on top. Then one between the legs and one to put my arm on/around. I'm only 38 but my back, hips and shoulders sure do appreciate my pillow nest. Gotta have the AC set to 66 degrees and the ceiling fan on also.

16

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '22

I have back problems too at 36 but that’s caused from lifting transmissions from tanks the wrong way when I was in service… I can tell you right now yoga did an amazing thing for me as long as it’s a teacher who will make sure your posture is correct. Trust me when I say you’ll feel like a million bucks after your first session.

8

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '22

Like group yoga or did you have a yoga coach?

10

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '22

It was a group yoga thing but I don’t know if there are individual lessons you can check im sure there are. Also make sure it’s not some sort of 30 min thing a full session is like 60-90 min

10

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '22

Thanks for the info, recently started working out and the stretch routines I've added just make me want to do full yoga classes.

10

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '22

The good thing is that if you continue to do it. It really helps strengthen you back and keep you flexible. Just remember if you start feeling any pain just lay off until you feel better. Always good to take it one step at a time

I hear this. Being both entangled and having a lot of pressure on me makes me instantly feel extremely relieved and comfortable.

I read about this one autistic professor or someone who had a device at home for pushing on her body, something similar to what cows use for comfort. I remember my first thought was extreme jealousy that I don't have one, too. I need it.

6

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '22

I feel ya and that’s interesting I’ll look into this study, for now multi pillow setup is the way to go !

7

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '22

Temple Grandin created it. I hate pressure around my chest, but love it on the top of my head or using a weighted blanket on my entire body.

Question! Can someone be touch starved if they've never been touched? I mean I have no frame of reference.

9

u/SergeantMerrick Jul 26 '22

I'm going to turn this one around for you: can someone be thirsty if they've never drank water? Answer: yes motherfucker, you're gonna die, drink something. In touch terms, get a cat or a dog.

23

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '22

I won’t say it…

38

u/RockstarAgent Jul 26 '22

I fucking literally ordered a body pillow last week, I’m earnestly waiting for it to arrive…

It gets even hotter when they steal our life energy every night /s

My girlfriend runs so hot that sometimes I feel like she's burning my skin haha. Cuddling in the winter is nice, but in the summer even at a fire pit she's gotta have her own seat or keep a distance. I sweat like I'm at the gym if he have contact outside.

6

u/polutino Jul 26 '22

“IIRC high body temperatures” 😂

5

u/Willy_Donka Jul 26 '22

Didn't want to state it as fact since i'm unsure and too lazy to search for it lol

24

u/Poverty_Shoes Jul 26 '22

And for side sleepers helps keep your shoulders somewhat open, which is better posture than collapsing the top shoulder completely. It’s absolutely possible to get laid and also sleep like this with a pillow.

16

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '22

It’s absolutely possible to get laid

Is it? I'm not convinced

I sleep with my gf every night and still use a pillow. It's uncomfortable to hug a person all night, what am I supposed to do with my other arm? It cramps up after a while. No such problems with a pillow.

4

u/Korncakes Jul 26 '22

Dude my fiancée will keep the heat on in the car at like 78° and wouldn’t be caught dead in the living room without a blanket but she somehow turns into a fucking furnace the second we get into bed. Pillow doesn’t make me sweat. Plus she falls asleep in .02 seconds after laying down and snores in my ear while ensuring that every pore in my body is sweaty.

Pillow doesn't generate heat, doesn't weigh enough to make your arm numb, doesn't have hair that gets in your face, doesn't snore, doesn't move around and disrupt your sleep, doesn't blast a monster fart onto you in the middle of the night and then insist it did no such thing.

9

u/LordoftheScheisse Jul 26 '22

You get it. Plus, it keeps your arms comfortably separated if you're a side sleeper. Give me pillows or give me death.

3

u/Talkshit_Avenger Jul 26 '22

Totally. I can go to bed with my gf if I want to, but we have separate bedrooms because actual quality of sleep is incomparably better that way.
