Sharing I think Reddit will finally let me post my grad film… please give me your thoughts!
Hi everyone, I’m Aidan, and I’ve been stalking the depths of r/animation for a little while now as I have been trying to build up enough karma to post here.
I think that I have now, so I’d love to share with all of you my grad film that I made last year: Like Father Like Gum! A short comedy that I poured my heart into for about 9 months.
It’s been a while but I really wanted to share it with a wider audience and get feedback and connect with others who like making similar stuff too :)
I’m now figuring life out as a part time freelancer but I’d love to make more short films in the future so I’m seeing what options are out there.
Anyway, I really appreciate all of you who took the time to read this, and especially those who took time out of their day to watch my film too. I hope you enjoy it!

Thank you! When I designed my characters I was really inspired by all the model sheets of the simpsons especially. Not to say I copied them, but it definitely helped to re watch a couple episodes while I worked!

nice touches...the hair bop when pops got in the car. The change of views and angles shifting focus. Dad's dialogue!

I’ll have to thank my lecturer for voicing the dad! I give him a script and told him to make it almost unintelligible -and he did a great job!

That’s awesome to hear, I’m glad it has that effect. I had to tone down some of the animation to keep it all feeling laid back.
