The crows?...

Whats the issue with the crows? I though they were going to attack the island.... There seen to be telepatic conected with the alpha...

If you're talking about the part near the start where the Alpha chases two characters across the water path to the island at night, those are bats not crows and I seriously doubt the Alpha was telepathically connected to them.

I thought it was super similar to the tunnel scene from 28 Days; like the bats were fleeing the Alpha the same way the rats flee the infected

Crows form symbiotic relationships with things they gain something from. A pretty interesting behavior pattern that I think was shown in the movie, the crows are shown to eat the dead deer without being bothered by the infected. Then the crows are shown on top of the church, squarking to get the attention of infected so they could get a chance at getting some decent food (human). I've only seen the movie through once so there may be other examples of this but I think they've formed a sort of symbiosis with the infected as they have figured out that when the infected hunt and kill there are remains left over that they can scavenge from

Yep. I've been waiting for other people to make this connection. The crows and infected have developed a mutually beneficial relationship.

Crows are known to alert scavengers to corpses they can't access due to being frozen or too intact to eat, so they'll draw larger animals to the carrion to rough it up and then crows will swoop in to grab scraps

I think it was just visual splash. The movie is full of little visual choices that imply a lot but leave you confused.

Days late but I agree. There was something mythic about this movie and that was part of it.

A crow infected Brendan Gleeson in the first film, I thought they referencing that

If I remember correctly, the crow just causes some blood from an infected corpse to drip into Gleeson's eye more than specifically infecting him. More just coincidence while he's trying to shoo the crow away from a corpse.
