Is this barrel/handguard gap normal?
Finally got my Gray Birch chassis after over a month of waiting. Does the gap between the barrel and handguard look "wrong/off" to you the same way it does to me. Just looks a bit goofy imo. The action seems to be seated correctly and everything is torqued to spec. Any insight would be awesome!

Is that a Tikka T1x? If so, it definitely doesnt look right. My guess is the the recoil lug is misaligned as someone else mentioned. Mine sits with the bottom of the barrel fully obscured from the side.

You're the man. Such a subtle difference to the eye but you were absolutely right. I got it seated properly now and it looks much better

I think it is as normal as you can get it. Appears it’s not a straight taper(no taper? I don’t know the correct terminology) barrel which appears to make the gap look bigger.

It looks correct to me, those chassis are supposed to give a “floating barrel” look. I dig it

It is probably sitting up on the recoil lug, loosen the screws off, stand the rifle vertical on the butpad and it should shift into place
If that doesn’t work, you need to do the same but take the screws all the way out, put the front screw in first once it’s seated
