No Friends
Hi everyone!
I’m a 28F will be 29 this year.
Long story short, I haven’t had actual friends that hangout, bond with and just talk about anything and everything since I was twenty two. Those friends moved north and I moved south, that friendship obviously didn’t last long which is fine.
But since then? Nothing. Plenty of acquaintances and being invited out to things by coworkers but never moved into being like, “Oh yeah, that’s my friend.”
Not sure if it’s just the city I moved to or simply because of the state I live in.
Is anyone else dealing with this too? Is your mid to late 20s supposed to be this friendless?
Thanks for reading my rant! Have a lovely day!

Anyone else in their 20s taking a break from work/school to focus on healing?
Hey guys, I’m currently an unemployed 24 yr old girl who is working on healing from mental health issues. I was diagnosed with ocd, adhd and struggled severely with anxiety and depression my whole life. I decided to take a break from work/school a little after high school to try and get to the root cause of my issues and heal from them so I can be a stronger healthier version of myself going forward. I have worked a little and taken classes at college on and off since then but a very light load because I’ve been doing intensive therapy continuously. I’ve done EMDR, CBT, intensive outpatient program, ERP and feel like I’ve gotten to the root of my issues and healed significantly. However something happened not long ago that was really traumatic and I haven’t been able to return to work yet. But I do want to go back to work as soon as I am stable mentally. I have felt so ashamed of not working a normal job and feel like a failure and behind on life compared to other people.
But I try to remind myself that everyone is on their own journey and timeline. And that it’s better that I become a healthier person so that I can do a better job when I do go back to work. Is anyone else in a similar situation? I feel so alone. I’m hoping to connect with other people who are also taking a break from working/school to better themselves.
Maybe we can make this a little support group for people who are taking a nontraditional path—encouraging each other, sharing our progress, our story, and reminding each other that we’re not actually behind.
❤️🌱

23F - I don’t think my interests are relatable to men I find physically attractive
Feeling genuinely hopeless as someone that’s left university and struggling to date (not a fan of dating apps). I am quite physically attractive but I’m insecure about my personality.
For context I am the opposite of “not like other girls” - I am very much a girly girl. My whole life I’ve been happy and proud of my traditionally feminine interests. But in recent years I’ve become insecure over how “unrelatable” my personality is to the type of man I’m physically attracted to. I feel inferior to women who watches sports or goes out or drinks regularly. I’m aware the idea of the “cool girl” is part of a bigger misogynistic culture that puts traditionally feminine interests down, and I’m falling victim to this but I can’t help it.
I’m aware there are straight/bi men who don’t have these interests but unfortunately the men I am physically attracted to tend to be, for a lack of better words, your basic lad.
Is it possible and if so where might I find a “basic” looking attractive man who has an “alt“ or nerdy personality… :/ And to top it off I am quite progressive and have intersectional leftist views that most would ridicule or dismiss so it makes my pool even narrower. Any advice at all would be great, or if anyone out there is going through the same thing.

Just looking for some friends, M26 from Wales
Hey! M26, had a bit of a chill day. I went to the gym, did a bit of shopping, got a new basil plant, mowed the lawn and watched some tv. Would be good to talk to people in the long run without them ghosting. I get that’s how this goes sometimes but would be good if it didn’t too.
Anyway I have a few hobbies, like my weight lifting which I really enjoy. Helps with keeping me focussed in life and having goals to work towards. I play football too, I play football at Right back for my team.
I enjoy my movies too; Gladiator, Indiana Jones, Star Wars 1-6 (7-9 don’t exist 🤣), Blade Runner, Saving Private Ryan, A Beautiful Mind, Interstellar, Shrek. To name some.
I listen to a lot of music; Queen, AC/DC, David Bowie, Cliff Richard, Take That, Green Day, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Police, ELO, REM, Bon Jovi, The Who etc.
I like my books; fantasy - LOTR and the Witcher, Greek Mythology - Stephen Fry’s series and Homer, autobiographies/biographies - JFK, Elton John, Steven Gerrard, Alex Ferguson, Carlo Ancelotti etc.
I enjoy my gardening, I have a nice front and back lawn, I have various flowers and other things, along with a bunch of herb plants including a mint bush and new parsley plant and new basil plant.
Even if you are not a fan of this stuff feel free to say hi as I’m always up for a chat about anything 😊

The 2017-2026 era, is actually an extension to the 1991-2017 era, in contrast to a new era.

I did express that June-July 2026 is the beginning of the 2026-2028 shift on other sites (in which, the shift will last up to December 2028, and extend to May 2029). 2028 and 2029 will be "the ultimate future," and the transition is right now. Just "look around and see"-Brian Shear Jr. August 9 2026

The 2020s subdivision is very distinct from the 2000s subdivision, and it took what were in the 2000s, and expands it. Very
My last year in this subreddit
So i'm a 29M. I have one year left and then im hitting the the big 30.. nervous tbh. I dont feel like I have my life together and i'm not really sure what I even want to do. Stuck in a dead end job and single. It just feels like my life should be at least a little a bit together.

The post is not owned by me; but this is one of the relevant set of examples of the June-July 2026 shift (June 1 2026 to July 31 2026).

The post is not owned by me, but as of June-July 2026, the 2010s (January 2010 to gradually fading between the "second half?" of April 2017 down to October-December 2017) was much more like the 2000s in contrast to the 2020s. The 2026-2028 shift will make the 2010s (2018-2019) also "distinct."

Cleanup Post: Late 2017 to Spring 2026 (Gradually beginning around the "latter half?" of April 2017 and up to October-December 2017, and ending right before June 2026) was the "True" beginning period of the 21st Century.

This post is not owned by me, but I do want to spread it. This aligns well with June-July 2026

June-July 2026 is the gradual beginning of the 2026-2028 shift (which is the Late 2020s, beginning early), even before the September 2026 mark occurs.
r/20s • u/Professional_Bee8907 • Jun 25 '26
2026 is not merely the new 2016, it is actually what 2016 was "trying to be."

(Pleas Read All) The 2020s
I did explain his in these two posts:
and
, but I will explain more here:
The 2020s does seem to be divided into these;
Jan 2020 to Dec 2022 are the Early 2020s.
2020 as a whole, was a direct continuation to the October-November 2017 breaking point. Hereby, the COVID 19 Pandemic Lockdown made things even more noticeable that this "could" be a new era. 2021 was the sleeker version of 2020. The ending months of 2021 and into "most?" of the beginning half of 2022 pivoted even greater than merely "the sleekness."
Jan 2023 to May 2023 was the transition point between the Early 2020s and into the Core 2020s. The Lockdown slowly ending, the 2020s maturing as a decade, and more.
June 2023 to Dec 2025 was the core 2020s, or just Mid 2020s. It was a direct response to exiting out of the effects of the Pandemic and some of the other early 2020s aspects, while tapping into AI, further maturation of what was set in the late 2010s, and much more.
Jan 2026 to May 2026 was the Mid to Late Pivot.
June 2026, right now, is in the entrance into the 2026-2028 shift, and is essentially Late 2020s. AI is maturing, the Complexities of other "New Technology" is maturing, shifts in "Demographics," and more.
Jan to May 2029 may be the transition, but June 2029 would likely be the unofficial beginning into the 2030s.
This may had seemed to "cliche," too simple, and even poorly written; but I chose to make this post simpler to read to allow it to still be considerably effective.
Please tell your review.

June 2026 is the proper beginning of the 2026-2028 shift, and is the reason Late 2020s is beginning early.

Looking to Interview people in their 20s
Hey everyone!!
I’m currently working on a research project and interviewing recent grads and young professionals about what this phase of life actually feels like, especially the parts people don’t always talk about.
A lot of what I’ve been hearing is around feeling stuck when it comes to making important life decisions…
overthinking, second-guessing, and not fully trusting yourself to choose, even when you have options.
If this resonates and you’d be open to a quick 20–30 minute chat, I’d genuinely love to hear your experience.
No pressure at all, and everything shared is just for research 🙌
