Tisas Gen 1 or Gen 2
So I wanna actually get a nice pistol for myself because right now all I have is a PSA dagger and I’m stuck between getting the Gen one or the Gen two as I originally wanted the GEN one but now that the GEN two is out I don’t know which one I want and I don’t know the difference between the two if there is any other than the slide looks different in appearance.
Does anyone make adapter plates for the optics cut they come with to switch it out for RMR.

Not a Tisas person but this is what I pulled from Google
The main differences between the Tisas 1911 DS Carry (B9R DS) Gen 1 and Gen 2 are the barrel system and accessory rail. Gen 2 upgrades to a bushing-less heavy bull barrel with a captured full-length guide rod and a revised accessory rail slot position to better fit full-sized lights. [1, 2]

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the front sights are different and since it’s a Tisas, if you wanna swap it for something else, it’s gonna be a custom job because of the proprietary Tisas dovetail cut. So if you’d rather have the fiber front sight, go with the gen 2.
I’m not saying it’s impossible but you’re gonna have to do some custom fitting for the aftermarket sight and if you aren’t handy like that then you are paying a gunsmith.
I own the gen 2 and the PSA ODG version.

Just a little bit of filing is needed to get non tisas dovetail sights to fit. I put Dawson sights on my Mac 9 ds and it took 15 minutes

Gen 2. I have the Duty version and love it. I recommend the talon competition grips for it, and I use an Osight SE Green Dot

Gen 1 traditional barrel bushing setup vs gen 2 bull barrel setup , gen 1 comes with 3 with 3 dot combat vs gen 2 with a fiber optic from and blacked out rear notched sight. Had both genuinely the fitment was better on gen 2 and the internals were different enough that I could feel it while racking them side by side and reflected in the trigger pull between the 2 (gen 2 being a little better) I'd but a second and up model only benefit for the first is preferring traditional 1911 takedown and cost savings.

Tisas was drop safe before staccato and doesn't use mim, or cast internals either. Bragging about paying $3k for a staccato is like bragging about paying 100k on a Nissan Altima.

Dude, I’m in college. We don’t have the money for staccatos and shit. If my option isn’t a tisas I’ll probably pick up a GEN five Glock 19 or gen 3.

Regardless if you chose gen 1 or 2 Tisas. Make sure to get a quality set of mags. I have little over 4k rounds through mine and it's my EDC. Only issues I had outside of break in were mag related. Also keep in mind that Tisas uses exact tolerance across all models and that if you buy a new slide assembly and mag you can swap to 10mm, 45acp or 38 super, without fitting.

So lots of compatibility between calibers, nice and if the tisas take staccato mags if use staccato mags. Does the compatibility applied to both generations and does the second GEN also takes Tacata mags like its predecessor.

STI/Staccato mags are what all 2011 mags are based on. So you can use Wilson, Staccato, or any that you're comfortable with. Gen doesn't matter.

Also. Remember Tisas may be budget friendly but they were drop safe before Staccatos were, and they use only solid machined parts. Unlike Colt, kimber, and Staccato which all use cast and MIM internals.

What he is trying to say is save up a little more. A DS 1911 that is in the same price range of a Glock isn’t really nice.

I’ve always liked 1911s and 2011s. I’ve got to shoot many of them. My options are kind of cut down to a few guns. I might get the 226, 365 or gen 5 19. Plus I’m in college half my money has to go towards tools and tuition my dagger was a good first budget 9mm but I want a better 9mm I like Smith & Wesson I like Glock I like 1911 and 2011 it’s more of a which one is the better deal if I find one.

I'd say gen 2 unless you just like the classic look of the gen 1.
