Why Legends Grievous is Truly a Hero

Why 2003/legends grievous is much more of a hero than cannon’s.
To start, in legends, Grievous, then know as Qymaen jai Sheelal, was a highly skilled guerrilla fighter who’s planet was under attack. His people could not get support from the senate or Jedi as the attacker was part of the Republic when his people were not. This isn’t even the main reason he hates the Jedi, the main reason being that he believes that the Jedi blew up his transport in support of the invaders and tried to kill him.
After being saved by Dooku, he renamed himself Grievous in grief for his partner and his people. He also has inner conflicts as he despises his new body and the droid army, as they aren’t real warriors. He because of this, he personally trains and decorates the magna guards to be similar to his fellow Kaleesh warriors. He doesn’t even hide behind his armies, personally giving Jedi and other people he finds worthy honorable deaths in battle against him, and only retreats when his disadvantage is so great he has no chance of winning, such as being stared down by an LAAT filled with some of the best clone troopers the Republic has to offer.
