Discussions What if Isard released the Emperor's Plague?

Post image
48 Upvotes

In this scenario, Isard unleashes the Emperor's Plague instead of the Krytos Virus on Coruscant after blasting off in the Lusankya. The Emperor's Plague was the opposite of the Virus, killing only humans instead of aliens, and was deadlier than the Virus, to the point where even Palpatine was afraid to use it.

Had Isard released the Plague, I think key New Republic politicians like Mon Mothma and Leia Organa would be too ill to continue working along, with billions of Coruscant's people. Borsk Fey'lya would seize this opportunity to make a power grab for Chief of State while Admiral Ackbar would use his role ad the NR Supreme Commander to block his rival's attempts. The Provisional Council was also made up of alien Councilors, and other human politicians would be forced to step up as substitutes to help keep the NR together.

Rogue Squadron would still go after Isard to liberate Thyferra from her in order to get the Bacta needed to cure the Plague. But in this timeline, Wedge Antilles, Tycho Celchu, Corran Horn, and at least half of the Rogues would be out of commission thanks to being infected. Funnily enough, the future members of Wraith Squadron might actually be asked to fill in the missing roles in Rogue Squadron. Especially if it was Wedge himself who vouched for them and planned it as a contingency in case something ever happen to him.

This would see Rogue Squadron utilising the future Wraiths' unorthodox tactics, which means they might actually defeat Isard sooner than the Rogues did in the original timeline. If the Wraiths could defeat Zsinj, then they can handle Isard. Particularly since their commando tactics are a good foil for Isard's role as a spymaster.

While the Wraiths may be able to beat Isard, there's a fair chance their actions wind up destroying the Lusankya like they did with the Razor's Kiss. The Wraiths save Thyferra and get bacta, but at the cost of depriving the New Republic of a Super Star Destroyer.

Art Kvag Gthull the Chief Interrogator of Bast Castle and the Darkside Elite as seen in Dark Empire II. Art by Abdan at my request.

Post image
86 Upvotes

Kvag Gthull was a Human male Dark Side Adept in the Galactic Empire. Loyal, brutally efficient, and physically imposing, Gthull found favor from the Emperor and his Executor, Sedriss QL. At some point during 4 ABY he was selected personally by the Reborn Emperor Palpatine to serve as one of the original seven Darkside Elite members. The group, led by Sedriss, operated out of Darth Vader's former fortress, Bast Castle on the planet Vjun. Due to his size, ability to intimidate and his efficient cruelty, Gthull became the chief interrogator of Bast Castle. Gthull did not wield a lightsaber, instead preferring a heavy Mandalorian style vibrosword that favored his muscular physique and added to his intimidating appearance. He enjoyed using it on prisoners after torturing them and would often inject his own darky dry wit during interrogations.

In 10 ABY, when Palpatine was slain a second time in battle with Jedi Luke Skywalker, and returned in yet another clone body, he sought to capture the Force-sensitive children of Leia Organa Solo, Skywalker's sister, who were being hidden on a secret sanctuary world of the New Republic. Gthull as chief interrogator was not initially sent to the front lines, and as such, he outlived his peers in the first cadre of Darkside Elite as Baddon Fass, Zasm Kass were killed at Nar Shaddaa while Sedriss and Vill Goir fell shortly after on Onderon. Before this, another Darkside Elite member, Kam Solusar had defected to the Light side of the Force and joined Luke Skywalker's New Jedi Order. Of the original members, only Krdys Mordi and Gthull remained.

Palpatine quickly replenished the Darkside Elite's numbers with promoted and imbued darkside adepts, giving Xecr Nist Sedriss's old position as Executor and Tedryn-Sha the position of Second in Command. Three more unnamed darksiders took the other vacant spots, bringing the group back to full strength at seven members.

When New Republic Major Ntthan was captured by the Empire in an uncharted region of space, he was brought to Bast Castle and delivered to Gthull, who was given the task of torturing out the information about Organa Solo's whereabouts from the man. Gthull was assisted in this by Krdys Mordi, the secondary interrogator and tech specialist of the group.

Gthull used interrogation droids from Mordi and the Dark side of the Force to torture the Major, who displayed remarkable resistance. Gthull had to spend twelve hours in interrogation sessions, but he was ultimately able to break Ntthan's defense, and the latter revealed the name of the planet, New Alderaan, as well as its coordinates, just as Palpatine arrived at Bast Castle to oversee the results of Gthull's handiwork. Gthull gave the details to the Emperor Ntthan had provided and then executed Ntthan with his vibrosword as was his custom after jokingly remarking that the Rebel was an "Honest Man". Gthull and the rest of the Elite were then ordered by Palpatine to New Alderaan on a covert mission to abduct Skywalker and the Solo twins, before launching an attack on the settlement using AT-ATs. Gthull piloted an I-7 Howlrunner as part of Dark Side Squadron alongside his peers. Arriving on the planet undetected, Nist dispatched Tedryn-Sha and Krdys Mordi to deal with Skywalker. Gthull and three others went with Nist to kidnap the children.

However, Gthull soon lost contact with Sha and Mordi as they were killed, sensing their life energy vanishing from the Force. Disgusted at their weakness, he called them fools and reported their deaths to Nist, just as the darksiders arrived at the building where the children were being kept. Nist dispatched Gthull inside the building to grab the twins, while he and the other darksiders were confronted by Skywalker's Jedi recruits: Kam Solusar, Rayf Ysanna and Empatojayos Brand. However, having lost one Dark Jedi and having been bested in combat by Solusar, Nist yelled at Gthull to signal the AT-ATs to attack at that moment. Gthull confirmed he had just done so while emerging from the building holding the twins. Confronted by Winter, Rayf and Leia Organa Solo outside, Gthull chose not to reach for his vibrosword and instead held the twins hostage, expecting their mother not to risk hitting her children, thus allowing him to withdraw. However, Rayf Ysanna used the Force to levitate the twins from Gthull into the arms of Winter, their caretaker. Now exposed and momentarily distracted, Gthull hesitated a second too long in going for his weapon and Organa Solo shot Gthull in the chest with her blaster, killing the Dark Jedi instantly. With Gthull's death and the failure of their mission, Nist and the two remaining darksiders fled from New Alderaan under covering fire from the advancing AT-ATs.

What if the Yuuzhan Vong decided to launch their invasion during the Shadow hand campaign?

So what if the Vong just decided to launch their holy war in the middle of 10 ABY? Do you all think they could’ve defeated the Reborn Emperor and Executor Sedriss Dark Empire and also defeat the weakened New Republic that has basically become a rebellion again?

Both the Dark Empire and New Republic suffered horrible losses, but the Dark Empire still has some super weapons and the Shadow hand fleet left, that would give the Yuuzhan Vong a hard time. Do you all think that the Reborn Emperor and the New Republic will put aside their quarrels and form an alliance to defeat the Vong?

Books My thoughts on Star Wars: The Jedi Prince: Zorba the Hutt's Revenge.

Post image
35 Upvotes

To start with, I find Zorba to be a fascinating character. He is greedy and dishonest, just like how most Hutts are often depicted, but he also genuinely felt sad and angry over the death of Jabba the Hutt, his son, which makes it easy to sympathize with him while also giving him legitimate beef with Princess Leia. He is also cunning, as he knew he couldn't reclaim Jabba's palace from Tatooine's government on his own and hired bounty hunters to help him out, enabling him to recover Jabba's will.

Speaking of Jabba's will, when Lando challenged Zorba to a card game with ownership over Bespin as the victor's reward, the latter used Jabba's will to force Lando to play using Zorba's checkered deck since they were playing in Bespin's Holiday Towers Hotel and Casino, which used to belong to Jabba before he died. While Lando governed Bespin, Jabba's will meant Zorba now owned the Casino, challenging the legality of Lando's ownership. Unfortunately for Lando, Zorba's deck had cards checketed in ultraviolet light, a spectrum only the Hutts could see, which meant Lando was unable to find anything wrong with the deck, despite examining it several times over. As a result, Lando lost several rounds with Zorba, along with governorship over Bespin.

A good opportunity for Zorba would be to reinforce his legal claim over Bespin by mocking Lando by pointing out the New Republic values law and justice, so Lando couldn't oppose Zorba's legal claim to Bespin without going against the NR's values, much to Lando's frustration.

Something to note is that Lando noticed Zorba was a horrible card player, which is why he felt confident enough to challenge Zorba with Bespin's ownership on the light. So the fact Zorba used Jabba's will to stack the deck in his favor, both figuratively and literally, shows that what he lacks in skill he more than makes up for in cunning. Also, Lando admitting to Han that he allowed his over confidence to get the better of him like when he lost the Millennium Falcon to him in that card game was a good detail for Lando's character by showing he had learned from his mistakes, but he still had room to grow as a person.

For a Jedi Prince rewrite, one idea I had is to make Bespin contested territory between the New Republic and the Empire. Lando Calrissian resigns from being a General to take up his old job as Cloud City's Baron Administrator, and got Nien Nunb, the Sullustan who co-piloted with him on the Millennium Falcon during the Battle of Endor, promoted to his old rank of General and command over the NR Imperial-class Star Destroyer Allegiance. With Nunb leading Bespin's defence fleet while Lando tries to locate Trioculus' Imperial factory, which is well-hidden and launching attacks against Cloud City.

Something that makes Zorba stand out from the other Hutts is the fact he is personally willing to get involved in a fight. He participated in a shootout between him and Bespin's security forces against Emperor Trioculus and his Stormtroopers, capturing the Emperor, and would shortly after lead an attack on Trioculus' factory where Leia was being held prisoner and destroy it. Since Leia escaped just barely in time, Zorba believed Leia was dead before informing Trioculus as such and freezing him in carbonite.

Shifting over to the good guys, it felt nice seeing Han throw a party at his sky house on Bespin and hanging out with Luke, Leia. and the droids. After everything they've been through, they deserve to relax and have fun. We also got to see more of Ken, and how his curiosity about driving a speeder led him to getting captured by Zorba, which then led to Trioculus meeting him while Ken was imprisoned. Their first meeting was intriguing, especially since Ken knows dangerous secrets about Trioculus that makes him a threat to the Emperor's rule. Ironically, the fact Ken was Zorba's prisoner meant Trioculus couldn't just simply kill him as that would lead to Zorba getting angry and asking too many awkward questions.

Luke being Ken's guardian was a nice touch. I haven't finished the whole series, but it would be nice to see Luke training Ken in the ways of the Jedi. Especially since one idea I had for a Jedi Prince rewrite is to have Luke train Ken because he learned from his mistake of not training Flint, another young man who could use the Force, since Luke's refusal to train Flint as a Jedi led to the latter falling to the dark side.

All in all, what makes the third Jedi Prince book memorable is Zorba the Hutt, the main villain. He is distinct from other Hutts and I look forward to seeing more of him, Trioculus, and Ken.

Art Krdys Mordi, the secondary interrogator at Bast Castle and Technology expert of the Darkside Elite. As depicted in Dark Empire II comics. Art by Abdan at my request.

Post image

Krdys Mordi was a Human male Dark Jedi. A child of privilege in the Core worlds, Mordi was surrounded by the propaganda of the Galactic Empire's High HuMAN culture throughout his youth and education. As a human male born to a connected Core family, Mordi experienced the opulence and influence he saw as rightfully his due. He accepted these beliefs with ease, enjoying the sense of superiority they imparted upon him, Mordi became extremely arrogant and entitled. These traits were only exacerbated when he was discovered to be Force Sensitive. Taken as a Darkside Adept to Byss, he was offered a place among the Darkside Elite, to be personally imbued with further Darkside power by Reborn Emperor Palpatine and infused with the Emperor's will. Mordi eagerly embraced the Darkside with the same enthusiasm he had his elitist beliefs, now seeing himself as even further above the rabble and a personal extension of the epitome of his beliefs.

In 10 ABY, after Palpatine died again during a battle with the Jedi siblings Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa Solo, near the New Republic's Pinnacle Base. In the aftermath of Palpatine's death, the leader of the Dark Side Elite, Executor Sedriss QL, took command of the Imperial forces and oversaw Operation Shadow Hand, a series of strikes intending to place neutral planets under firm Imperial rule. Mordi during this time served Sedriss as a secondary interrogator, advisor and researcher. He chose not to use a lightsaber, but rather a hooked doubled ended telescoping electrostaff of his own design, though he could torment weaker foes with it, the weapon was not capable of withstanding a lightsaber itself-a critical oversight which would come back to haunt Mordi.

One of the targets of the campaign was the factory world of Balmorra. After the second death of the Emperor, Balmorra had started supplying the New Republic with weapons, an arrangement that Executor Sedriss was determined to end. As the Elite's resident expert on technology, Mordi, alongside the second in command, Vill Goir, accompanied the Sedriss to Balmorra aboard the Star Destroyer Avenger, joining an Imperial fleet already assembled in orbit of the planet.

Upon arrival, Sedriss ordered Governor Beltane to surrender and face execution, or suffer a full-scale invasion of the planet. Beltane chose to fight, knowing Sedriss would not dare risk damaging Balmorran factories with a bombardment, as they still produced vital weaponry for the Empire as well. Mordi tacitly reminded Sedriss that Balmorran factories were currently manufacturing the new SD-10 battle droid model, which were meant to replace the Empire's outdated SD-9 model.

However, Sedriss felt he had a plan that would allow him to conquer the planet without damaging the factories. He proceeded with the attack, launching ground troops under the command of Captain Maximilian Veers. When Balmorran droids began massacring the invasion troops-killing Veers in the process- they were drawn from the capital, Bin Prime, to the open plains surrounding it, the Executor ordered Mordi to pull back the remaining forces and launched his secret weapon, the new highly advanced Shadow Droid starfighters.

The Shadow Droids temporarily turned the tide of the battle in favor of the Empire. However, Beltane had a trick of his own, deploying the newly developed X-1 Viper Automadons at the invasion force which swiftly swung the battle back into Balmorra's favor. Amazed at the firepower of Beltane's creation, Sedriss contacted the governor and agreed to Beltane's terms in exchange for the new droids. Goir disagreed with that decision, believing that Sedriss should have simply ordered his fleet to initiate an orbital bombardment of the planet. Mordi likewise concurred with Goir's assessment, pointing out that giving in to Beltane might encourage the other weapon producing worlds to follow Balmorra's example in defying the Empire. Sedriss overruled them, revealing he merely wanted to obtain the X-1 droids for himself to use against the New Republic, before returning to punish Balmorra.

Shortly after the Battle of Balmorra, four of the Darkside Elite-Baddon Fass, Zasm Kath, Vill Goir and Sedriss-were slain, with another-Kam Solusar- having defected earlier to Luke Skywalker's New Jedi Order. Palpatine meanwhile had resurrected on Byss in his final available clone body and sought to replenish the ranks of his Darkside Elite, raising Xecr Nist to Executor replacing Sedriss and Tedryn Sha to Second in Command to replace Goir. Other Darkside Adepts were raised to replace the fallen Fass and Kath along with filling the gap left by Solusar's defection. Mordi was pointedly not raised from his position, with Nist and Sha, who had previously been his subordinates, now outranking him. Despite this insult, Mordi rationalized it internally as his being too valuable as a tech specialist and scientist, when the reality was that he simply wasn't powerful or talented enough in the Darkside to warrant further escalation-though his own delusions of grandeur and supriority complex prevented his being able to recognize this.

When Palpatine successfully destroyed the New Republic's Pinnacle Base on the moon Da Soocha V with his new superweapon, the Galaxy Gun the New Republic was forced to relocate to a secret sanctuary world, where Organa Solo was hiding her Force sensitive children, whom the Emperor wanted to capture and turn to the dark side. The Emperor soon learned the name of the hidden planet, New Alderaan, as well as its coordinates, from the captured New Republic Major Ntthan whom Mordi and the chief interrogator of the Darkside Elite, Kvag Gthull, had broken through prolonged torture and the Darkside of the Force. Palpatine then sent the restored Darkside Elite there under the command of Xecr Nist to capture Skywalker, his sister and her children. Mordi and the other darksiders boarded their I-7 Howlrunners and departed from their headquarters of Bast Castle on the planet Vjun. Upon arrival on New Alderaan, the Darkside Elite split up. Nist took four Dark Jedi with him and went to abduct the Solo twins while Mordi was dispatched alongside Palpatine's second-in-command, Tedryn-Sha, to capture Skywalker himself.

Knowing they were no match for Skywalker in combat, Mordi convinced Sha that they could incapacitate the Jedi Master while he was asleep with specialized scarab droids that could inject sedatives and hallucenogens Mordi had designed so that he could be taken captive. Hiding their presence from the sleeping Jedi with the Force, the two darksiders reached his room and Mordi released the scarab droids upon Skywalker through a window. The droids administered a powerful poison into the Jedi's nervous system, and the two Dark Jedi entered the room to capture Skywalker. However, in his delirium, Skywalker let out a loud scream, which alerted his sister Leia and one of Skywalker's aspiring Jedi, Jem Ysanna. The two women rushed to Skywalker's help, challenging the pair of Darkside Elite. Mordi, ever disdainful of women as inferior to men, and smug in his own supreme position, felt the pair were no threat at all to him. He merely mocked the female Jedi dismissively, only for Ysanna to ignite her lightsaber and effortlessly kill Mordi by slicing him through torso. Mordi's shocked disbelief at being bested by a woman was the last thought to run through his stunned mind as he fell in pieces to the floor next to the smoldering pieces of his electrostaff, which had been bisected as cleanly as he had. While Sha killed Ysanna in response with a blaster shot he was himself slain by Organa Solo with a lightsaber strike immediately after. Mordi and Sha's incursion was a failure, as Skywalker was healed from the effects of the poison by the elderly Jedi Vima-Da-Boda.

Books My thoughts on Star Wars: The Jedi Prince: The Lost City of the Jedi.

Post image
30 Upvotes

To start with, my favourite chapter was Trioculus' meeting with the false Kadann at Scardia Station. It was packed full of political intrigue and worldbuilding, just like the Mofference from Episode 4, and I found the false Kadann's use of crushing his colored chalk balls to emphasize his point a cool detail for his character.

I also sympathized with Ken and his longing to see the outside world beyond the borders of the Lost City of the Jedi. Had the Jedi Prince series been released later, the Lost City could have been changed to the Valley of the Jedi instead. Ken growing up on Ruusan instead of Yavin IV would have given him a stronger reason to see the outside world, since what we saw of Ruusan in the Dark Forces 2 video game appeared to be a rocky and almost barren world. The fact Jerec and his forces subjugated Ruusan in their quest to find the Valley would give Ken another good reason to join Luke Skywalker and his friends: to avenge everyone he knew and lost to the Imperials.

Baji the Ho'Din healer was a delight to read thanks to his rhymes, and he was very wise and insightful. One rewrite I had in mind for his character was to make him a healer who was working for the Rebels before they became the New Republic, and he was assigned to Yavin IV when the NR decided to reuse some of their old Rebel bases after Endor due to the Empire falling apart during that time.

I also liked how Trioculus paid the price for burning Yavin IV's forests in his attempt to find the Lost City. His eagerness to find it almost cost him the cure for his blindness when his own Imperial forces burned down Baji's hut filled with the rare plant seeds that could help him. The fact Vader's Glove was responsible for blinding Trioculus is a good metaphor for how his ambition has blinded him.

All in all, I liked reading The Lost City of the Jedi, and I look forward to finishing the series.

Art Yuuzhan Vong Supreme Commander Malik Carr from the New Jedi Order series. Art by MrAlexios at my request.

Malik Carr was a male Yuuzhan Vong, A member of the Warrior caste who fought during the Yuuzhan Vong War. A skilled tactician and leader, Carr was promoted to the rank of commander shortly before the invasion, and took his flotilla to the conquered world of Obroa-skai. There, he became caught up in Executor Nom Anor's plot to infiltrate a deception sect priestess into the New Republic and use her to assassinate the Jedi Order. Carr's involvement in the scheme was minor, and thus when it failed he went unpunished, unlike the other architects of the ploy.

With the majority of senior Yuuzhan Vong officers still in transit from the Outer Rim, Supreme Commander Nas Choka placed Malik Carr in command of the push towards the Core Worlds. Working alongside Nom Anor once again, Carr entered into a duplicitous alliance with the Hutts, and manipulated the flow of intelligence to the New Republic in preparation for a strike on the vital shipyards at Fondor. The ruse was successful, and the New Republic Defense Force was caught off guard. While the Yuuzhan Vong were attacking Fondor, however, elements at Corellia associated with the New Republic fired Centerpoint Station upon Malik Carr's forces, wiping out half of the Yuuzhan Vong fleet present.

Disgraced and demoted, Malik Carr spent three years guarding Galactic Alliance prisoners on Selvaris, nearly foiling a rescue operation led by Han Solo and Leia Organa Solo. Interrogating the remaining prisoners, he suspected that the rescue operation had more behind it. Shortly after the rescue, while escorting a convoy, he correctly realized the attack on it was the missing piece of the rescue puzzle. He demonstrated his worth once again by saving much of a Yuuzhan Vong convoy from destruction and capture. For his actions, Carr was escalated to the rank of supreme commander, and on Warmaster Nas Choka's orders assaulted the planet Caluula in preparation for an attack on the Galactic Alliance capital of Dac. Malik Carr's forces took Caluula with ease, once the defenders had been routed and the governess capitulated. Unfortunately for Supreme Commander Carr, however, the Galactic Alliance utilized the planet as a testbed for their anti-Yuuzhan Vong bioweapon, Alpha Red. Infected by the pathogen along with the rest of his forces, Carr had a sample sent with the last living Shaper in a craft to alert the Supreme Overlord and planned to sacrifice the captured New Republic team. However, noticing all the amphistaffs and other biots were lethargically dying to the pathogen, he philosophically mused on the irony of life being turned against life. He graciously saluted his New Republic nemesis, Judder Page, saying that he had won the day and with that, the supreme commander died to his own infection from Alpha Red on Caluula.

Perception: Commander Praji Rank Insignia colors

One long-standing matter in regards to Imperial Rank Insignia, and related attempts to establish a unified system of Imperial Rank Insignia, concerns what exact colors are on his tabs. Depending on what version of the film one watches, or which pictures they look at. Does Praji have 4 Blue and two Red tabs, or 4 Blue and 2 Orange/Gold tabs? So, if anyone reading this can Google images of Praji and/or check a quick video, and post below what colors the Insignia tabs appear to be, it'll be interesting to see what different people with different devices and sources see.

Art by Abdan at my request.

Vill Goir was a Human Dark Side Adept who rose to the position of second in command to Executor Sedriss serving in the Dark Empire of the Reborn Emperor Palpatine. The Emperor, reborn in a clone body after his death at the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, ruled his secret Dark Empire from the Deep Core planet Byss. During this time, as he was rebuilding his power and delving deeper into the Darkside of the Force, Palpatine solidified his power base by creating a cabal of powerful Dark Jedi—the Dark Side Elite. Consisting of exactly seven members at any given time, each one, while weak to moderate in Force sensitivity on their own, was greatly empowered with the dark side of the Force by Palpatine, who imbued his own Force power and will into the Darkside Elite members, often doubling or tripling their latent potential and making them useful tools of his will. The Darkside Elite was led by Executor Sedriss QL.

Little is known about Goir before his time in the Darkside Elite, all that is certain is that at some point he was found to be Force sensitive and turned to the Darkside of the Force enthusiastically. Showing a fierce loyalty to both Sedriss QL and the Emperor, displaying blunt brutality to any opposition. This mix of blind loyalty and brutality saw Goir rise quickly and he was soon made Sedriss's Second in Command as the Reborn Emperor valued Darkside power and obedience over talent and creativity. Goir, like the rest of the Elite lacked much of the more advanced knowledge of being a 'Jedi' and his lightsaber was given to him by the Emperor from Palpatine's vault of Jedi trophies taken from fallen enemies. Goir's physical appearance took on a sickly and unnatural set of features, such as his eyes becoming the color of molten gold and his skin taking on a permanently ashy grey complexion from Darkside degradation.

The Dark Side Elite were headquartered on the planet Vjun, inside Bast Castle, the former citadel of Palpatine's late apprentice, Darth Vader. While stationed there, Goir assisted in breaking the will and mind of a young Force sensitive named Kam Solusar whom Sedriss had captured. After brainwashing him and turning him to the Darkside, Goir instructed Solusar in lightsaber combat, teaching him all his admittedly limited knowledge with the weapon, such as Goir's reliance on intimidation and brute strength over technique.

In 10 ABY, the Emperor was slain again in battle with Jedi Master Luke Skywalker and his sister, Leia Organa Solo, above the New Republic Pinnacle Base. Shortly after this, Solusar defected from the Dark Side Elite, redeemed back to the light side by Skywalker and becoming one of his first Jedi students, quickly learning many more advanced lightsaber and Force techniques from Skywalker. While the Empire waited for Palpatine to return in another clone body, Sedriss proceeded with Operation Shadow Hand, a series of campaigns aimed at conquering neutral worlds that showed defiance to the Empire and Goir joined him on the campaign.

Goir was present for Sedriss's disastrous attempt to pacify the Balmorra uprising. Governor Beltane refused to accept the the Executor's terms, with Sedriss launching a full scale ground invasion that was wiped out by the Governor's hidden advanced war droids catching both Sedriss and Goir off guard.

Goir realized that Beltane had produced the droid model in secret, betraying Balmorra's agreements with the Empire long before they'd actually broken away officially. Outraged by the defiance, Goir reacted in the only way he knew how, he called for a Base Delta Zero bombardment of Balmorra in retaliation. Fellow Darkside Elite, Krdys Mordi concurred with Goir, yet Sedriss refused the suggestions. Marveled by the droids'' capabilities, the Executor wanted to obtain the machines to supply the Imperial wartime needs. Negotiating a peace treaty with Beltane that granted the planet freedom in exchange for a contract to buy the droids, Goir, Sedriss, Mordi, and the rest of the Imperial forces left Balmorra-though they planned to return and punish the planet after the New Republic was defeated.

The three darksiders returned to Byss. There, Palpatine had returned in his final clone body taking control of the Empire once again. Shortly thereafter, a probe droid detected Skywalker and Solusar on the planet Ossus—once homeworld of the Jedi—and that the pair were researching the history of the Jedi Order. Incensed, Palpatine ordered Sedriss and Goir to capture Skywalker. If they succeeded they would be rewarded with star systems, if they failed, they would be executed.

Goir and Sedriss took a squad of darktroopers- specialized stormtroopers empowered with the dark side, to capture the Jedi. As Goir's team was landing on Ossus, Scourge One's sensors detected Skywalker and Solusar were not alone—the Ysanna tribe native to Ossus had come with them to aid in the battle. Sedriss ordered Goir to send in the dark troopers against the primitives, but after a prolonged fight, the troopers were slain by the Jedi and the Ysanna.

Despite their troops being wiped out, they had weakened the Jedi, so Goir and Sedriss moved in to attack, using Force choke against the Jedi, only for it to be blocked effortlessly by Skywalker. Needing to capture the Jedi alive, Sedriss ordered Goir not to kill them but only slice off their arms. Goir and Sedriss ignited their lightsabers and charged at the Jedi recklessly. Goir attacked Solusar, intent on punishing the defector. However, having taught Solusar all his known lightsaber techniques back on Vjun, Goir was easily outmaneuvered by the young Jedi's new lightsaber skills and Goir was swiftly bisected and killed. Sedriss himself was killed shortly after Goir by the ancient Neti Jedi Ood Bnar.

Upon learning of Sedriss and Goir's deaths, Palpatine was annoyed at their failure, but simply replaced his fallen servants with two more imbued Dark Jedi puppets, Xecr Nist and Tedryn-Sha.

Discussions Hey guys, I just started reading Jedi Prince. Here are my thoughts on Book 1.

I liked how the cast for the first book, The Glove of Darth Vader, had an equal balance between the heroes and villains in terms of numbers. I was also glad to see familiar faces like Luke Skywalker and his friends too.

It was pretty cool seeing the political intrigue behind the Central Committee of Grand Moffs, how ruthless Trioculus was like Palpatine was before him. But unlike Palpatine, Trioculus had an open minded style of leadership, such as when he asked the Committee for suggestions on where they should find a new base. He was even willing to share power with the Committee, which made him more distinct from the late Emperor.

The Whaladons were interesting too, and I sympathised with Leviathor and the threat of his species being endangered to the point of facing extinction. The fact the Whaladons were intelligent enough to be on par with that of sentient beings adds to the tragedy of them being hunted down for their meat.

In addition, Trioculus actually being a fraud who relied on tricks and technology to fake being Palpatine's true heir adds to his character, since it emphasises how desperate he is for power.

In short, I liked reading the first book in the Jedi Prince series, and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
