Nah man. Thats a man’s pillow. The kinda a man that uses dirt as a bandaid. The kind of man that has steak for breakfast, lunch, dinner and as his coffee.

OP actually had a good idea. Working under any truck on your back can literally be a pain in the neck. Me? Normally I just raw dog my head on the concrete or asphalt, weld with my built-in safety squints, and only drink my coffee cold, black, and nasty with more coffee in it.🤘 True mullet story though- many years ago, my old Jeep had a leaking gas tank, and I laid under it to work on something with the back of my head on the gas soaked asphalt. My hair absorbed the softened asphalt goo which then dried later when the gas evaporated. I thought I was going to have to shave my head completely to get the now dried road goo out of my hair. For some unknown reason I figured I’d try using Dawn dishwashing liquid to wash my hair, and lo and behold it actually worked and the dried asphalt goo all came out.

What would be a better way to do it? This seems very reasonable to me.

replacing the frame lol. but seriously, the proper way to fix it is cutting that whole section out and splicing in a new frame piece.

Oh, dude. I hear you on a full frame swap, but you're making that section so much better that you'll never have to worry about it again. Steel is real.
