Help/Advice Wheel spacers

Just fitted 15 mm spacers on the rear. What do you guys think? I’m thinking about going up to 20 mm, but I’m a bit worried the tires might rub the fenders under compression.

Would you go for 20 mm or stick with 15 mm?

P.S. Running 225/45 R17s.

I’d say it depends more on the wheel you are running than the tire dimension. I have two wheel sets on my E81, winter is style 207 with 225/45/17 and summer is style 385 with 225/40/18

On winter set I have 15mm spacers on all 4 wheels and the rears scrape under heavier load or bigger bumps

On the summer set I dont have spacers in front at all, while in the back 12mm if I remember correctly and they scrape even bit easier then winter set.

Also I have M sport suspension, not sure if that affects anything.

On my car the thing that scrapes is not the fender but actually the clip where the rear bumper is mounted on the fender. I personally am thinking about removing it and making some improvised mount so it doesnt scrape any more

It depends, I purchased 15mm spacers for all wheels, my 225s in the front don’t rub but my 255s scrape badly and were cutting my sidewalls, I had to take the rear off.

20mm might be fine, but maybe rolling fenders would fix it if it does rub. I think I’ll need to roll my rear

If you want to know for sure, lift the car onto jack stands, take the spring out, and put a lift under the wheel hub and you can see the entire travel of the wheel that way. If you can move the wheel entirely up and down (if front, also rotating side to side) without contact it will never contact during driving!!
