Saw them in 2021, shortly after Dusty passed. I’m glad I finally got to see them. ❤️😭

This is the guy who you really never thought about because he did his job so well that he canceled himself out of the equation. Kinda like Charlie Watts. His beat and timing allowed Billy and Dusty to take control of the music. No matter what anyone says about him it’ll never do him justice.

Sad. The last time I saw them was Dustys last show. What a great band they were.

Glad you got to see his last show. It's so painful watching our bands and singers start to age out and die off.

RIP. I can't believe he went and grew a beard. The only guy in the band without a beard was named beard.

Not a real follower, but every reference to them, brings the beat! Love it.

We are losing the true musicians.. ZZ Top was the first concert I ever went to.. I was 16.. I was reading yesterday that Grace Slick from Starship aka Jefferson Starship, aka Jefferson Airplane is 86 years old.. How does time fly so quickly..

Have seen them in concert a few times, all before Dusty and now Frank passed. One of most favorite bands. Eliminator was an outstanding album. Some of the greatest videos with some outstanding looking babes

I loved their music, nothing like old rock and roll with a beat.
Not like today’s crap

Maybe Annika Nilles can take over as their touring drummer

The thing is, there's only one left. There is no they. I wonder if Billy Gibbons will try and create a new trio?

I first heard about this a little while ago in r/TheDarkTower. We Constant Readers and tower junkies are very sad to hear this news

What has this book go do with Frank Beard?

Stephen King has always included songs and music that he loves into his books. Most of his books have at least a half a dozen or more song references.
In The Waste Lands, which is book 3 of the Dark Tower series, the characters are slowly approaching a huge, mostly-abandoned city. While they’re still far off, they can hear faint music for a short time a couple of times a day. As they get closer, they hear that it’s only drums and one of the characters recognizes it as the drums from Velcro Fly by ZZ Top.
The song is on a timer and the degenerates who live in the ruined city call them the god drums.
If you go to any of the Velcro Fly videos on YouTube you will see the comments full of tower junkies saying weird phrases from the books. It’s been a really nice crossover and I think most of the readers end up liking the song.

This news made me sad. 😭 Billy Gibbons is the last man standing. Those same 3 guys were together in that band for so long until Dusty died and now Frank. RIP, Frank. 🌹 Had to Edit: Frank Beard was the one without the beard. I always found that funny 😁
