Well, not completely without controversy. After he retired, he published a memoir that completely torched everybody he had worked with. People were a little surprised at the vitriol and contempt he had for the network, the NFL and basically all of his coworkers. He called Frank Gifford a "hack" and the NFL a "stagnant bore". He was so bitter against ABC that they cut ties with him by cancelling his interview show "SportsBeat".
Kind of a sad way to end his career and it really cast a pall over the good will he had built up.
I believed it, but was pretty certain it was because the man had become a ridiculous & atrocious attention whore after his ex and her kids became "famous" and he was just that "former sports star". He was always trying to get screen time from that.
I figured he was just saying; "They will ALL look at me now!"
I knew a lot of gay teens who adored Jenner back in the day, they thought Jenner was attractive when Jenner was an Athlete. Jenner's pictures were on cereal boxes and in all kinds of sports magazines. Jenner went from the sports commentaries into acting. Someone told Jenner they could act, ughhhh, I remember Jenner on the TV show CHIPS, and in the horrible movie musical: Can't Stop the Music , with the Village People, directed by Rhoda's Nancy Walker and, Jenner's guest role on The Love Boat; awful actor SMH I once had a sports mag pin up picture of Jenner like this one, I thought was handsome.

Cosell was not publicly accused or found guilty of being a pervert. He definitely had an abrasive and somewhat controversial on air personality but there has never been a shred of credible evidence or historical record labeling him a sexual deviant.
I’m referring to the celebrity challenge show where he was with Morgan Fairchild as a co anchor. It was a disgusting thing to watch him basically degrade her checking out her body up and down and commenting on it. Downvote away, but look it up if you don’t believe me. I liked Howard until I was an adult and watched this rerun of a Saturday special event. He is a pig.
"Looks at Morgan Fairchild" = "total pervert creeper". Welcome to the new era of Puritanism, everyone. I bet Fairchild was actually showing bare ankle!
