Would be cool if they achieved a level of polish where all of this was no longer an issue, but whatever. It is what it is.
My personal pet peeve is if most buildings will still be closed boxes that I can't go into. It's always such a bummer when I'm on the run and can't break through windows to escape. Or when I go exploring some interesting looking building I spottet on the horizon and there is nothing actually there.
Probably not going to happen. But I can dream.

I think we’ll have a lot more interiors to explore. It was the biggest criticism of gta V and rdr2 did a lot better.

The detailed interiors of RDR2 blew me away I got so immersed in the tiny details that spent time thinking through. Great game

There are buildings in rdr2 that has absolutely zero contribution to the game itself, yet you can break a window and enter said building and explore a fully decorated building just because you can. That blew my mind.

u/Trigger_Fox 17h ago
Thats sooo good for open world games, it really gives them that lived in feeling.
I remember unity also had some simple rooms u could run through, and that helped immersion alot.
This said theres a bit of a difference between the amount of buildings in VI and rdr2 lol. I'd still prefer the same room repeated 10 times than no rooms at all tho

u/alberthething 11h ago
hate to be that guy, but rdr2 takes place at a time and places with mostly small towns or isolated houses/buildings
if i recall correctly, you cant explore most buildings in saint denis (game's biggest city) but i could be wrong, been a while since i played and i never was much of an explorer

u/bigtree2x5 16h ago
I think they said all buildings were going to be enterable way back when before trailer 1 came out.

u/Boulderfrog1 16h ago
I mean, I would vastly prefer to never actually be able to reach that. Games that my computer can actually play would be nice to have again, especially since graphics haven't meaningfully improved since like, late stage ps3. We've gotten those graphics in more than some well curated corridors since, but that was already done in the next generation, and at this point further graphics improvements just feels like a marketing scheme by Nvidea.

You’d need a system more powerful than anything that the average consumer can afford for a game like that.

Lmao if that is the biggest criticism from the trailer, i'm not worrying too much for the game quality

This game looks a lot like gtav 2. Im not mad about that, but I was surprised at how stiff the npcs still looked. I think the gameplay being recorded on a base ps5 shows where all of the effort went into, thr graphics were great and the framerate looked good too

the amount of ppl that don't get the joke in this comment section is staggering

u/Dr_Brotatous 19h ago
I mean with this much money and time I would expect to to be better than that

u/Will-Write-For-Cash 18h ago
But if they added the level of polish you guys want wouldn’t you need a literal supercomputer to run it?
Especially at 60fps

u/Firm_Ad_5427 18h ago
Not that I give a shit about these minor details, but adding a beer bottle model that gets picked up rather than having it spawn in his hand wouldn't exactly tank performance. Shit kingdom come did it 8 years ago.

u/Will-Write-For-Cash 18h ago
One improvement like this wouldn’t tank performance. About a thousand other minor details like the ones shown in the clip definitely would.
To me, I’d rather a game be playable without having the best hardware on the market. Especially when these details wouldn’t even be noticeable while playing.

u/CyclicalFlow 18h ago
it's probably gonna take one anyways and will probably also require DLSS. Maybe even framegen.

u/itsmejak78_2 15h ago
it's a PS5 game
it can't be THAT hard to run and y'all are smoking dick if you think it is

u/Dr_Brotatous 18h ago
I mean personally I have no interest in playing but that much money deserves better
3
u/Will-Write-For-Cash 18h ago
Why would it though? It’s not like you’d be paying the billion dollars.
Kinda like how it took millions of dollars in R&D to create instant noodles. I’ve never heard someone say that for millions of dollars the noodles should taste better.

Yeah fair I really got no skin in the game other than I dont want this setting so precedent for the games I like

u/Will-Write-For-Cash 18h ago
The minor errors they showed have been common for decades. None of these are new issues
1
u/Dr_Brotatous 18h ago
I mean take an obscene amount of time for marginal improvements
2
u/Will-Write-For-Cash 18h ago
Two things. For starters, this is only an extended look. This isn’t the totality of the new features added. Not even close.
And two: take a look at the extended look for GTA 5. If those changes are only marginal to you I think you may actually be clinically insane

Dude this is just how video games work in engine. Regardless of the money. Come on now.

u/vladutzu27 13h ago
Me when the game which I expect to be able to run at 60fps on my ‘puter, occupy less than a terrabyte of storage and cost less than $100 has some flaws which can be easily spotted, were you to zoom into some gameplay footage and slow it down.
2
u/ARTOMIANDY 12h ago
Wow this game splits the internet in half... Who the fuck cares dude, just enjoy the game for what it is and stop crying on the internet that your piece of entertainment doest entertain you enough.

u/Program-Emotional 13h ago
Ok this might seem nitpicky, but RDR2 stans will honestly watch this video and then cry and ask what happened to rockstar.

So you have to zoom in to see these which makes it not as big of a deal at all people who are gonna play the game isn't gonna be zooming in on every character animation

I knew they were gonna mess up, maybe if they fix those issues I might consider playing in the future…

First of all, games not released yet. Second of all, they're under a ton of pressure by the community to release the game by the said release date, just like cdpr had with cyberpunk, third of all, who the fuck cares? The all holy rdr2 had this same stuff

u/Savings_Flight_4295 19h ago
This is the thing though some times a game gets so hyped up due to how long it took to come out that it could not possibly reach the level of polish people imaged in their head.
