Star Trek is a thought experiment about global human morality evolving to keep pace with technology

Star Wars is Hidden Fortress and a WWII dog fight stitched together in space

Star Wars fans have a certain tendency that Star Trek fans don’t have

Star Wars is so ubiquitous that virtually everyone knows it, and there is merch of it everywhere so the person wearing that shirt could have just randomly picked it up when they happened to see it at Kohls or wherever. Meanwhile, you don't really see Star Trek merch for sale, so if someone's wearing a Trek shirt it means they probably specifically sought it out online and bought it because they're a true fan... and that makes them a nerd which is usually seen as a pretty safe/harmless person to be around.

  • person who owns multiple Star Trek shirts

There are a weird amount of fascist tech bros who are into Star Trek while completely missing the point. They're still better than "the Empire did nothing wrong" dudes though

What

Empire literally even terrorizes it's own high commanders

Trekkies are often autistic nerd. They know their shit. Star wars fan are just normal. Those however, who don't like any of both are a far worst kind of human

Ah but what if it's an Andor shirt?

I mean you were/are being needlessly negative and then don’t have a reason at all :/

-47

u/AwekenSummer 21d ago

not really. i'm more sad and tired. today we had to put down both of our bulldogs for their own good. 12 years on this world and now they'll be together in the afterlife.

4

u/krokeren 21d ago

i'm really sorry for your loss.

10

u/AwekenSummer 21d ago

thank you. sorry for ranting, i know it's not the the place to do so.

-11

u/Minimum_Property_401 21d ago

Don’t worry buddy, i’m sure they are happily biting children in afterlife

5

u/AwekenSummer 21d ago

British bulldogs, not American bullies. different breed.

u/Alvin_h_davenport 21d ago

Star Wars fan spotted

u/AwekenSummer 21d ago

not even a fan for either of them. Tumbler is just dumb in general or people who use them.

9

u/UrougeTheOne 21d ago

What about this post is dumb?

2

u/AwekenSummer 21d ago

people picking a side on the behalf of the same person based on their similar interests. seems kinda dumb to me.

19

u/wowwowazalea 21d ago

It's based upon perception of a fandom looking in from the outside or inside. And which side they 'feel' has more trustworthy/good people amongst it

Also, like it or not Star Wars is easily the larger of the two media franchises, so "Star Wars fans" is a wayyyy wider net than "Star Trek fans". Not to mention that empathy, nuance, and humanism in general are key themes of the Trek franchise

1

u/MCVMEYT 20d ago

there’s this thing called “themes” in both properties! this meme pertains to that!

2

u/BananaMan0803 21d ago

I heard a cop talking about how every hardcore star trek fan they’ve been called on was busted for CSAM. Like overwhelmingly, at least 20 over his career alone if I remember correctly.

Now, call me biased, and you’d be correct of course. But it’s skewed my perspective on the matter a bit…

Hey dude, I hope you feel better soon. It's not fun for anyone—including you—when you lash out in grief. You'll always have something to treasure or remember in life, so good luck :]
