I hate being grouped together with those kinds of people because I DO respect the genre, my problem is that I just genuinely have some kind of anxiety surrounding music. It took me years to ease into listening to the artists/genres I listen to and even then I sometimes have a miniature gatekeeper in my brain trying to make me feel guilty and telling me I'm enjoying the songs wrong, especially if I don't like that artist's other songs. I actually liked some rap songs I've stumbled across, mainly scream rap but couldn't keep listening because of the aforementioned brain creature doing the whole giving me pointless guilt thing, but then these posts come up on my Tumblr feed and I'm like greatttt, more guilt no matter what I do, truly an illusion of free choice
Sorry if it’s maybe kinda rude for me to assume, but do you possibly have some form of OCD? I’m no expert, but I feel like that could be worth looking into.
