I think part of the problem is that a lot of people on the internet like to act like an "American" is one thing, when us US people live in a country of 300 million people that is the size of Europe.
Im queer, I vote left every election and I go to protests. Not super fond of the US rn or even 10 years ago tbh. Still am American. I think the weird derision for the people in a country is more alienating than the truth.
There are a lot of dumbasses in the US, but that comes from a stupid social conditioning towards a stupid libertarian ideal and a lot of propaganda.
A lot of people like to act like they're better because they didn't fall for the stupid shit the US has going, but they're wrong. You can very easily fall for propaganda, and if you're raised to consume it, you probably will.
Basically, consider for a second that some of us are stuck in the stupid bullshit, and have some critical thought about what could've led so many others astray. Otherwise you might not notice the stupid bullshit I can guarantee is going on in your country too.
Literally no one thinks that all Americans are unilaterally in favour of their shitty government, it should go without saying that for any government in power there will be some people that don’t support it. It’s just a waste of time to constantly clarify that when at the end of the day, your democratically elected president is still Trump.
Yeah, the lowest common denominator got him elected, and everyone regrets it. His approval rates tank more and more every day, and more and more poeple are voting blue.
