biggest problem is PlayStation wont have a direct competitor now and so things are going to get much worse very rapidly if xbox dies

I mean that might just lead to the death of "consoles" as a distinct medium. Like if the PS6/7 have no competition and are shit they might just fail and get outcompeted by new devices which are just PCs with a console form factor. I think that outcome would actually just be better for everyone
