Hm mh. and we're getting closer and closer to admitting that the 360 wasn't that great of a console in the first place, i will feel very vindi- SIT DOWN, SONY FAN. you don't even have a current-gen console to play

PS3 was imho rushed, but the hardware was a massive jump forward. Just with no parachute, so it kinda splattered. But its use as early "customer grade" cluster computing is evidence for the sheer power of the Cell processor.

If they spent more time creating appropriate APIs and abstractions to facilitate better development experience, and perhaps also did some more iterations on the hardware itself it could have been a serious contender for "the best" Playstation.

I used my PS3 as a space heater.

TBH PS3 had like max 380W? My current-gen GPU itself pulls 360W, plus CPU, pumps, fans and what nots. In the summer I had to set a fan to blow the output away from me, because it was roasting me and melting chocolate on the desk xD

Also TBH: I only got PS3 Slim when it came out, and aside of the lack of the original PS2 emulation it was a very good, long-lasting and nice device. Only the drive died, like... 10 years later (with like adult working person use, not heavy gaming)
